struck me as mechanistic and robotic... same as they play... i think the players have overdosed on 'system', 'structure' and sermonising.

Basically - I don't give a sh!t if you trained and played all your life in the VFL. We need an inside mid at AFL level, and you are our best chance. Get in there and make it happen.

I love an inspirational quote... I have got a 500 page book full of them. However, there is only one quote that I have ever actually hand-written and pinned to my wall so I can see it each day:

Jim Stynes:

I heard him say that on his DVD, and wrote it down over a year ago. It is still on my wall to this day, and it will stay on my wall. Best quote I've ever heard, and one that actually has had a lasting effect on me.

This is a quote from Teddy Roosevelt and a favourite of mine. I often think of this when certain journalists decide to give a particular young player of ours a constant trial by media!

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.     Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.     Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders.     Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9.
