How will you celebrate a Dees' flag?

I was speaking to a mate the other day. A Geelong supporter.

He said he was absolutely stoked about winning the flag last year. I asked him what he did following the win. His response - "just went out for dinner with the missus".

Couldn't believe it - simply ridiculous behaviour, and it shows that some fans have become completely complacent about success.

It made me think though - what we I do if we won a flag? I know it seems highly unlikely at the moment, but it's a nice thought nonetheless.

I think I would literally rip my head off and drown it in a beer barrel for a whole week. I'd probably also run around for a while in no particular direction.

It'd be weird if we were to a win a flag. I've never experienced that before.

What would you do?

I would celebrate with all the past players that played for Melbourne in heaven.

I was 11 when we last won a premiership, however I have no doubt I will not be around when we win the next one. Even if I live to 100 years of age.

If however they by per chance of a miracle win a premiership in the next 40 years. I would probably faint, then watch the replay to make sure I was not dreaming. Then I do not know what I would do.

I really don't know, I think I may get very emotional but just hope it's something I have to think about one day! Of course I will have plenty of porters to drink on the day and the ensuing days

Lay in a bath of champaign while downing a bottle of absinthe and snacking on a platter of fine cheeses and tropical fruits...then my alarm would go off, I would wake up and ponder who the MFC should be looking at with their two top ten draft picks.

I would rent a defibrillator

I would put aside my hatred of illicit drugs, and fear of needles.

I would say a tearful goodbye to the remaining stub of my liver.

I would scorch my retinas with replay overload.

And i would smile, for the world would once again be a happy place.

But.....

Its not going to happen in my lifetime either. Sometimes you really do need to realise that you support a lost cause.

I'll be at the game probably hugging every MFC fan in the crowd I'll stay singing the song till they turn the lights off then...........wherever the demonland party is!

yeah would go nuts, follow the MFC party, drink lots of beer, then lots of scotch, then maybe more more beer.

Be awake when the replay is shown the next morning, watch that.......then maybe get an hours sleep and hit up some sort of mad monday style event, repeat previous nights antics.

Would most likely involve 2-3 days off work, then a tattoo

Probably die of a heart attack half way through last quarter & miss the celebrations.

I fear this will be me also but a little later in the game.

A tattoo (have told myself I will not get one unless I am either 40 or we win a Premiership.. 16 years to go..), and a bender that will probably end up with me waking up halfway across the world because I would want to spread the word about how great the Dees are..

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
