Agree with the sentiment of the OP, but Biffen and I loved it!!

He does attack the ball.

Call it what you want, the Josh Hunt's of the world will now think 3 times while waiting under a ball when he's around.

(add Maxwell to the list too, one handed squib).

Geez the hit on Fasolo looked clumsy and reckless. Would think he'll be up before MRP. However, if it were Franklin doing that, he'd get off for sure...

WTF is this thread about?!

Tappy did nothing wrong. Bit late, but so be it. He didn't hit someone behind the play, he didn't target the head. At worse he'll get a week off, and Collingwood will think twice next time they play us.

I loved it, and I hope he goes harder against Scully if he is not suspended.

ICGAF.

He had a chance to destroy Swan and didn't take it. He is our Byron and as long as he doesn't turn into our Campbell he will be fine.

He's aggressive, get used to it.

Gee I'm gutted that some players were playing the game hard and letting the opposition know that if your under the ball you are going to feel it. Wasn't that long ago that Watts was getting crucified for not crashing packs in the forward line.

Good on him for cleaning up the cocky !!?$ Fasolo and then shoving the hero 'macho man' Maxwell. Last time I can remember a Dees player having this much thirst to hurt someone in my memory (2001-present) was......never!

I like the fact that the Dees are playing a more spirited "unsociable" brand of footy recently. But, Luke Tapscott, WTF does he think he is doing? Fasolo annoys me as much as anyone but Tappy's attack on him was out of line. The attempt to launch Maxwell into the interchange bench was quite unhinged. If he continues to behave like this on the field he will be a very unpopular player. I would rather see him attack the ball with the same intent. Both Tappy and Silvia seemed intent on proving that they weren't pushovers. There's a better way to do this. Watch Jordie McKenzie.

Don't kid yourself. Who the frig at MFC is playing a more unsociable brand of footy? Mitch Clarke aside, he brought it with him. Yes, we are playing a more contested brand, but unsociable? Pffft! You're dreaming.

Tappy was trying to do what none of his pals did in the first half and that was make a physical contest and have a presence. If you didn't like it I suggest you take up watching basketball because if you aren't prepraed to make your opposition sweat when they are under the ball then you are not in the game. It was poorly executed and in fact he had a better, and legal opportunity to put Swan down in the 2nd quarter.

In case you didn't notice the game turned significantly around the point hee 'spolied' Fasolo, or perhaps you were happy with the way it was panning out, all nice and fair and that?

the Fasolo hit was reckless at worst, but if the MRP is anywhere near the wavelength the men in yellow were on today we'll see him in a month

and the helping hand to get Maxwell over the line, are you serious? that happens roughly a million times per round. Tappy himself was thrown head first into the boundary fence last week, big deal

as others have said, its about time we had someone in red and blue that might make the opposition think twice. fortunately he can also play football, which is more than MMM's own 'push up' King could ever be accused of

Every side needs a player with the aggression of Tapscott, provides a bit more fear factor and unpredictability. He is our enforcer, and he is only 20 years old... love it.

Cant believe what Im reading!

We all want tough players with aggression & Luke fits this as a hard nut!

Whilst he may have gone over the top, I rather have 2 or 3 of his type over the likes of Morton!

He just needs development on controlling his aggression

The second incident in particular with Maxwell was downright stupid, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't cheering his aggression. God knows we've been crying out for it for a long time.

Absolutely no issue with Tapscott showing some much needed aggression.

With Viney coming in next year we better get used to it.

I can't wait.

Haha damn straight JM. I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my thinking here, I was beginning to think I'd stepped into some kind of horrible European twilight zone and we were playing soccer or some other non contact sport all of a sudden.

[censored] off! Loved it...

Sent the filth crazy!!!!

Keep hard at it Dee's.

Tapscott's hit was more of a forearm than an elbow anyway. If he gets rubbed out I will be [censored]!

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
