Anyone see how the new recruits went. Especially interested in James Sellar? Also Dan005 you said that Clark kicked a goal or two... did he look like a natural forward? like leading to the right areas, good marking and second efforts.

Cheers guys for the reports!

Don't worry about Clark 'looking' like a natural forward. He certainly is one. I believe that last year at Brisbane there is a stat something along the lines of he had the most score involvements of anyone in the team last year (ie involved in the passage of play) or they went through him the most or something like that.

It's more about our ability to get it to him frequently enough.....

Some of us are bitter and twisted- and the rest are certifiable.

The goal I saw Clark get was with him running back with the flight of the ball into the square, still impressive, but no, it wasn't the straight forward lead and mark. Having said that, it was very congested in the match simulation with all the players in only one half of the ground. It was more about stoppages than goal scoring.

I am not writing off Davey, just commenting on what I noticed, its good he is with the main group, guess thats a step in the right direction.

Oh, and welcome Faceplant, don't let any snide comments get to you, the more the merrier on here I say.

Cheers mate, appreciate it, and the other welcomes as well. Might change my name though, looks like it's gonna get me into trouble.

Great reports coming through this place.

Thanks Dan005. Sounds good with Clark running back with flight of the ball, shows dedication and he's brave.

Although he has the most scoring involvements what we need in Melbourne is a KPF who can consistently kick multiple goals a game. Hopefully Watts or Howe can turn into a CHF marking the ball around the wings or centre square, both have good decision making and have better kicking efficiency compared to the rest of the team so hopefully good distribution to jurrah, clark or green who can stay inside 50. Last year our game plan was flawed, regularly relying on running back with the flight, very poor.

it's not about 'making the distance', its about doing it quickly. How quickly do you do your 3km. If you do it over 10 minutes then its really nothing to gloat about

Yes it is.

If you can do 3km in 12 mins you are a fit young man.

If you can do it in 10 mins you are an elite runner.

Holy jumpin' jellybabies. I can do 1 km in 12 mins. That's walking and a little jogging, but then I give those blokes 50 years start.

Nah leave it. It's all good. What started as a light hearted post regarding spelling errors of players names is all a little too much for some. You will soon see a lot of instances of such examples I listed in your reading. Welcome and enjoy.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
