AT 178cm and 77kgs I think it is fair to say he will not be a wrecking ball at AFL level for quite some time. The good news is you cannot train draftees to have guts, heart and testicular fortitude. Jack has it!!

The apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.

what you say is dead right.. hed be bouncig off a few players just at the moment...but given his tender years he ought to be nearer Beamer by the time he hits the deck for Melbourne ( maybe just a few kilos lighter...but not much. He ought to put on 7-8 kg over next 18 months youd think.

Absolutely right about the in built GnD. Hes going to all but kill someone.... he and Tappy ought to scare a few over the years....Its great isnt it :)

Actually that is a very solid weight for a kid of that age. Tapscott is 180cm and 87kg. Jones is 180 and 82.

Assuming he doesn't grow any more I reckon 85kg is a good number. If he does grow, I'd go up to about 88. You'd probably want him the size of Paul Chapman, who's 179 and 88.

Anyway, back on to the pics...

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but young Jack played very well for the Oakleigh Chargers last Saturday and was named in the best players.

The Chargers are on the fringe in the finals race and I'm not sure whether he'll be available due to school commitments anyway.

Here he is on the boundary during a recent Chargers game.

Thanks Pink.

Far out, he's got a good frame. He's going to be ruthless in that league this time next year. Pity the fools that are bottom-aged players.

Gotta a bit of pedo about this photo, I gotta say. :P

seconded! stalker shot!!

I hope he grows .

Were gonna have a mosquito fleet otherwise .

You are sick, mate

Why?

A "good frame" is usually spoken in reference to a women with a hot body.

"he's well built or stocky bugger" would've been better.

I cringed.

We need a mosquito fleet. I'd love a team combined of the Hawks mainstays plus Betts and Garlett & Rioli, plus add a couple of Cats to the mix for power.

Wow, I must be getting too old. I have never in my life said that a woman with a hot body has a "good frame". It actually doesn't make much sense when you think about it.

If that made you cringe KIL, I think you better lock yourself in your room, with no computer access whatsoever.

BOG for the Chargers today.

The win gets Oakleigh into the finals.

I agree he played well- especially under pressure

check out the frame on the kid in the photo!

Jack looks as developed as most AFL players in their 2nd year, and he's still a year away.

Great to see. Just hope it doesn't stunt his growth and that it translates to the next level.

Cant remember exactly how it was said, but on Footy Classified last night they mentioned Jack and said that he was as absolute ripper and nearly harder than his old man already.

They had better book a weekly spot for us at MRP then as his old man was made out of granite.

Its all sounding very promising but lets remember he's still playing jumior football.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
