  1. So if Buddy needs a full reco: pretty much the hawks should put him on ice for all of 2012 Roughie, who might miss the first 11 weeks anyway should be kept in wool Rioli should go back home on "Sympathetic leave" for 6 months and Hodge given a break as well Mitchell they should offload to GWS for Jaeger O'meara and spend all next year getting as many games as possible into Stratton, Bailey, Breust, Smith, Puopolo, Savage, Suckling etc and 'prepare' for next years draft which is a cracker. But i dont see any of that happening, just saying..
  2. Of that list am i right to presume that only Spencer and Strauss have injuries which will affect their preseasons? Not counting anyone who goes in for post season surgery

  4. To summarise this article published last night "Fev a Demon?" Niall Seewang, afl.com.au Apparently it is a bad thing that Melbourne is seen as a sophisticated brand, a "safe and conservative club". As such a club we don't take any risks when recruiting players. Therefore we should break the mold, "act like demons" and recruit Fev, even at the risk of damaging the brand, because getting a few "W's" is more integral than say securing a 6 million dollar sponsorship deal. (Not that i don't agree, i think that winning games is the first and foremost priority to a club, but there is a bigger picture to consider too, eg. loosing games to obtain #1 draft picks as an example) But while Fev could potentially bring these extra W's in the immediate future, "ultimate success" and the future performance of the club is not so important, so long as Fev has had positive impact during his time at the club. I disagree vehemently and as i said above i doubt even his ability to bring any extra W's to our team next year. Although Jurrah might enjoy using him as a step-ladder
  5. Nope. Across at least the last 2 years we have had one of the best conversion rates in the league for Goals per Inside 50. That is not our issue; our issue is getting the supply into our forward 50 - Fevola will not help that. Except, granted, when we are on a fast break after a turn over because we might have a target to kick to for a change (we know fev wont bother running around outside 50 regardless of the state of play) But still no.
  6. Pink Freud at a weekly chargers game But cheers for the update
  7. Fantastic opening posts, it's really nice to have the legal side of things summarized like that for us less learned folk. I hope we snag him.
  8. anybody else see Lewis get into Moloney for 'ducking his head' - what a [censored], deserved to be head-butted.
  9. His wife is expecting to give birth to their child any minute now; he left his decision to play the game or not until as late as possible and he didn't fly out of Adelaide until yesterday morning and then was on the first flight back home rushing to be with his wife. Yet with all that going on he played a ripping game.

  11. 18 months ago a goal umpire places bets at a pub on the AFL Grand Final (which he is not officiating in) and is banned for the entire 2010 season. Now Shaw bets on a game in which he is directly involved and cops 8 weeks? Double standards.
  12. Sat in the Richmond members area with some friends down in the pocket in the old Olympic stand, about 15 minutes into the quarter i spotted a young fellow MFC supporter who i normally sit with at home games. He had been sitting up the front, but when i spotted him he was retreating away from the boundary because he was copping too much abuse from the people around him; so we shuffled over and he sat with us for the game about 10 rows back. Even there we still copped the typical "Go home you filth" all game. While we clapped and cheered the goals and stood up for the courageous umpires and some of their finest work, we were not untoward or overtly ignorant/arrogant in any fashion. Yet with 15 minutes to go in the final quarter, one of the Richmond faithful decided that on his way out up the stairs, he would stop and throw his half full cup of beer in our faces before running away up the stairs. Clearly not all supporters can be generalized by his actions, but what a pack of feral scum bags we sat with today.
  13. Chippa on Jack Rivers on Vickery Garland on Miller McKenzie on Martin Nahas is the danger man in my opinion, anyone with that extra toe - Dan Nicholson would work in a straight line, but i think Nahas would turn him inside out more often than not...
  14. You are over-reacting. You're at the football, people support and support passionately regardless of the seating area they occupy. If i choose to bring a friend along to the football with me do i have to discriminate against them based upon how passionately they do or don't love their club? Absurd.

    GAWN

Ripper of a bloke too, i cant wait to see him play; he wouldn't be the only raw ruckman currently getting a game on senior lists. From Gotch's player review from the weekend: Possibly still feeling it a little bit. No doubt Gawn was just named as a precaution.
  18. Fantastic Thread. My thoughts exactly. By the new standards they are setting; the next time Jack Riewoldt knocks himself out after hitting his own head on the turf he should cop 2 weeks
  19. Still unconvinced. Positive- he found a lot of space. Negative- it's because he refused to man up on anyone during our defensive 'press', instead opting to simply point at crows players and palming responsibility off to others. In a game where everyone was giving everything and making a contest out of every situation - Maric allowed Crows players to just drift off him or float out the back too easily and gather uncontested possessions. And i thought his decision making by foot was actually pretty ordinary, opting to kick to petterd and johncock contest rather than bate 25m out and 15m clear. (Understandable decision, but still the wrong one) Impressive numbers though.
