How Excited are you by the NAB cup game tonight out of 10? And give your reasons why or why not?

results could be interesting...

I'm keen to see how much players have improved in size and fitness from last year...Plus see new talent coming through...

And the cricket season was a shocker...so i've been hanging for the footy!

Not really. It seems a bit too Micky Mouse to be able to really take anything away from it. I guess just watching the lads kick the footy around will make it worthwhile but other than that there isn't much there for me.

I voted just 5. NAB cup are just warm up games. No reflection on the real season. Also we are well below par because of our usual spate of injuries. As Jaded said the injuries are at it again. Grrrrrr

Not sure about these comments if you guys are giong to the game or are in Victoria?

But bloody hell I have waited ages to watch football again and watch my team. Forget about analyzing it to much or what we can take out of the game, I just can't wait for the feeling of watching the boys play.....

Highlight of my week, which says more about my week than the actual game mind you.

But footy is footy and watching Melbourne play is always awesome (2007-2009 aside).

ha, i have been waiting for tonight's game all week...just want to see the red and blue!

we are supporters....we follow the boys week in week out...win or lose...sunrise-sunset!

Not very excited. I find it hard to care when I know the clubs don't really. Will only watch if I end up with nothing at all better to do. To me it'd be like asking how excited I was about the pre-game warmup prior to a roster match.

Absolutely itching for round 1.

Hanging out to watch footy. Just want to watch the new guys, especially Howe, and see how others are going. Hope to win so I can see the next game. Unsure as to where we go if we dont get through, but flashbacks of the Adelaide pre season match in Whoop whoop last year make me want to be at, or at least see the next game.

I rated a 7, but would most likely be exited about watching footy again, even if it was not us playing. Dee's in first match is just a bonus.

I'm very excited as I'm looking forward to seeing the new recruits going around and to see how Strauss and Blease go. I'm also a little excited about the Sydney/GWS/GC round as it will be interesting to see where those teams are at... I hope Scully is watching as it may help to give him some sort of perspective as to where he would sit in a side like GWS (that is, bottom of the ladder).

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. 2024 Player Reviews: #40 Taj Woewodin

The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress.
