I kid you not, I did not notice him on the park until the 3rd quarter. I remember threads after the draft saying how the crowd will give him some stick when we play against them.

I guess nobody realised he was even out there today. Joel Mac will do just fine thankyou!

Mate I believe you coz I was in the same boat. The filth will be counting their blessings they got him for nothing coz that is exactly what he is giving them at the moment. Joel Mac took some very strong marks overhead today... even when out of position.

And their other big recruit Jolly did SFA today being totally outplayed by the Russian. Starting to feel a bit better about those trades back then

Never really wanted him in the first place. His leadership would have been good, but I wouldn't have given up pick 34 if I had it my way.

Pleased he had a forgettable day, actually. Pies supporters are already turning on him and Jolly. Now if we can just get Jamar to do a job on Nicnat when we play the WET TOAST.

Watching the game here in Canberra, the only time I noticed Luke Ball was when he was kicking. You could see the option that he wanted to kick to, but time and again his kicking lacked penetration and fell significantly short and ended up in the hands of one of our players. He can't kick more than 30 meters. His body is stuffed I reckon, but Collingwood obviously know better because they were saying how fit he was in the preseason.

On the other hand I thought Joel Mac was 200% better than his first game last week and was instrumental in leading the way down back - some of his marks in particular should be used as an instructional tool.

Agree.

Collingwood got Ball for nothing in PSD. They got about that value yesterday. Ordinary

Never wanted him, and was vindicated.

On the train home, a Collingwood supporter asked a fellow Pies fan who was the withdrawal that got Beams into the team (rightly saying he was basically the only one out there who didn't think the win was going to come easily). He then asked what injury Ball had suffered in the first quarter before he'd arrived, as he hadn't seen him all day. To which the other guy laughed and said, 'Nah he played the whole game. Sad isn't it?'.

More than happy (man enough) to stand up and say I wanted him at the Club. After watching yesterday's game, I'm glad we didn't get him. A highlight for mine was when the ball went out of bounds in front of Ball, and Trengove went up and chested him.

Goes to show that most times, regardless of our beliefs and opinions, the Club generally know best.

I reckon Joel Mac will be a top pick up for us. He'll looked really, really good yesterday.

Agree entirely about Joel.......he is a poised defender who played extremely well and will take some load off Rivers in being the senior member of the defence

I can't believe people wanted us to pick him even after he said he didn't want to play for us. If he's going like that in a good team where he wants to be imagine what he would have been like with us?

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
