Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The only apology I'll accept is at the trade table and their actions on the field next season. Anything else is just hollow rhetoric.

100% sick of the talk we want action . Yes improvement was there but lack of fight and hunger against lower opposition must be addressed

I don't want some half arsed apology that isn't actually meant.

What I would like is to see the president (what the hell does he look like anyway), CEO and coach release a statement/ pressed saying

"that this year whilst an improvement was a massive failure as we had our future in our hands multiple times and failed to beat teams out of the eight.

We will not tolerate our players coming back over weight/unfit, nor will we tolerate them drinking to excess over the rest period, players found doing so will be fined $50k.

All players will be looked at in their efforts and desires and told how they can lift/improve. Skills will be a major focus as we have too many players who butcher the ball too often.

We do not accept the lack of effort on Saturday, it was disgraceful and our supporters should never have to sit through that.

Our leadership group will be scrutinised fiercely from ourselves down as we are no where near ruthless enough off the playing field and especially on field.

We will entertain all enquiries about all our players except Jack Viney."

that at would be a nice start.

I tell you what, if the players are hurting just as much as some of the supporters out there, they better bloody remember that feeling. Use it for motivation and agree that they will never put the team in that position again.

I hope Goodwin absolutely CANES them over pre-season.

Jones: We'll address those inconsistences and get it right . It can be frustrating and dissapointing but we'll get there.

This kind of comment irks me big time. It has been a common theme all year

we are heading in the right direction , we will get threre , we are a developing team. We are on the right track , we have elite training habits, the group/club is confident in the direct etc.

It feels from my perspective that the club thinks that it will just happen. We have always been a club that gets to a certain level then expects it to naturally happen.

That's all I needed to hear. That's it. close the door. Focus on the progress we did make this year, in what was a challenging year. We had some horrible luck this year and created some equally horrible luck for ourselves. We are all hurting. They are hurting. We don't need apologies....are we all three years old and can't move on unless we hear "sorry" .

I'll wait until I see the full version but from those tweets it seems his missed an opportunity to give us supporters a full apology

I wanted a more direct admission that they were unacceptably bad in the colliingwood game, that they failed themselves, coaches and supporters. that they felt the season was a fail and the finals next year is a non negotiable. the west coast game didnt deserve a mention.

Just now, Mazer Rackham said:

Was he not captain of the club for those 2 1/2 hours?

Give Viney a break, he wasn't out there, and one captain trotting out this garbage is enough.

Instead of constantly talking and apologising and saying we will get things right, lets just shut up and actually get things right.

It is a disgrace the way we ended our season, the way we dropped winnable games, and went to sleep during matches instead of pushing our percentage up. It shows laziness, pure and simple.

I hope the players are as upset as we the fans are, but I am sure most aren't. The young players have no idea what prolonged failure feels like, and our leaders, except from perhaps Jones, don't seem to have the hunger to make things happen.
Nobody at the club can possibility understand what it feels like to be irrelevant for so long, to spend year after year going to games, paying for memberships, following this club, and experiencing nothing but failure. So rather than cheap talk, I hope we have a ruthless off season and a ruthless pre-season and make some serious changes to the way in which we mentally prepare and approach games.

That was a waste. Fundamentals?

For crying out loud, tell us how you got it so wrong in the lead up to the game. What were you doing all week?

Learn and move on?

Losing to Freo, North x2 and Hawthorn tought you nothing?

No idea how anyone can fault Jones for this. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. He fronted up, and didn't point any fingers. This bloke has given everything to this club every second since he was drafted, and has got dick all in return. If we had a few more with his attitude driving the team on the park, we would've won 16 games this year.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
