Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Clayton Oliver incident

One of the best things about our game is the atmosphere it creates with good size crowds and close games. The AFL need to drive this toward an abrupt end asap.

I would loathe the day a six foot high fence is built around the boundary or the first 2 or 3 existing rows are removed.

The club 'culture' is at a new high: an apology for this would dent this badly.

Instead we need to get on the front foot and demand an apology from him, and from MCC and security for not evicting him immediately.

To allow contact through the media is madness not to mention bringing my employer into it.

Some employers I know would sack you for mentioning it in a non-employment context.

Mine can and will. I won't even make a positive comment about my mob on social media so gung ho are they about it. If that was me yesterday I'd be receiving a DCM telegram about now (do we still have telegrams?)

What the fan did was disgusting and he should be banned from attending any AFL games, however in terms of where the attention goes it will always be against Oliver so he does himself no favours.

I don't disagree, but if that supporter said something racist to Jetta and Jetta got stuck into him, would we have the same reaction?

Using a disgusting word like c*** at the footy, when there are kids watching, and yelling it directly at a player that got pushed towards the boundary line is as just bad. Players have the right not to cop it from low life scumbags, and you can imagine Oliver's reaction was a split second thing.

Besides, if you lay a hand on a player, you are fair game. That is so not OK. I was sitting right about the incident on level 2, and I was shocked he wasn't evicted.

I don't think Lewis would have reacted the same, but he has 10 years on Oliver, but to be fair so do I, and I would have told him to shut the f up and eat another donut.

Is that the 15 minutes you really want?

Just read Lewis comment:

Former Hawthorn premiership player Lewis said players had to accept that there were few limits on what fans could throw at them.

"I think anything racial, and anything like that is clearly out of bounds - other than that, they can say what they want," he said.

"It's part of the game. You just laugh it off."

Not sure I agree. What about if you get called a [censored] or mental case. This guy didn't call Clayton Fanta pants ...its been said he called him a weak Cu6t.

Pretty hard not to respond. He probably should have ignored it but it the heat of the moment how many of us would?. Probably not Jordan in his salad days himself to be fair.

The fan had a big mouth and Oliver responded. Its no biggy. Seen it b4 and it will see it again.

That mark on the 50 line in the last 5 minutes shows that hes not weak. Love the guy.

Rewatched the video.  The bloke clearly puts his hands over the fence and puts one or both hands into Oliver's chest.

Spectator should be banned.

Yep, clear as day.

C'mon, Dill. Time to support the players and not Neanderthal supporters.

There's how the club publicly deals with the matter and how they privately deal with it.

Publicly, the club should be focusing entirely on why the fan stood up to reach over, touch Oliver and abuse him. Furthermore, they should be asking the MCC why he wasn't immediately removed from the stadium. Lewis' comments were poor and did not support Oliver at all.

Privately, they should be saying that yes what happened to you was wrong (see above) but you need to keep your outbursts to yourself because they don't actually help the situation.

This is the money shot, the man clearly reaches over to touch him, this should see him being banned from attending all AFL games.

Forgot about that mark!. Shows everything about Clarrie.....fearless, confident, and incredibly sure-handed. One grab, unsighted, back with the flight. He's a freak.

What sort of deranged tossbag would want an apology. The MFC should tell this Carlscum fan to go and fornicate himself. It just beggars belief.

Yet again a Melbourne player is the put into a situation were they are the victim but suddenly are the villain. Oliver was struck by Schofield but was labelled a diver and Schofield was allowed to walk with not even a fine. Now Oliver is verbally confronted by a person that should not be allowed to attend a match but now Ollie is at fault for standing up for himself. Enough is enough. It is time the club comes out on the front foot and demand that action ins taken against this so called supporter.

What is wrong with Carlton supporters. The language used in regards to Lewis was disgraceful and that was in the MCC section.  It was fitting that the final act that destroyed Carlton was orchestrated by Lewis himself.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
