Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I did my colarbone years back. Needed pins etc. A good 2 months before you felt overly confident with it. Youre sore and shoulder tires .

Regardless of whether he gets fit I think we should hold him until next year. He's had such an awful year, and to be honest when he came back he wasn't exactly setting the world on fire.

Get him set for a big 2018.

Agreed that it's time to pull the pin on season 2017. It's been a stinker for the poor kid.

Unless we somehow make prelims I can't see us playing him again. And even still he will be so rusty I'm not sure it'll even be the right move.

Give him the best medical, surgical and rehab treatment.

Let him go home or be where he wants. Keep himself fit and trim to go but with no requirement or demand.

When we make the finals see if he is ready to go and match him up against Pedersen or alternatives.

Jesse is a class player who can dominate an opponent and a game but he must be ready to go. The coaches will know.

Tell him you want him back as soon as possible because he's a very important part of the team.  Tell him he'll be straight back in and the harder he works the quicker it will be.  Give him a reason to be enthusiastic about his recovery.  Make him feel wanted, not a failed product for 2017.

Don't put him out to pasture and take away his motivation.  Tell him he can be part of something really special and finish the year on a high and achieve with the team.

Give the kid something, don't take it away.

There is nothing in my post saying he should be brought back before he's ready.  I was saying we should keep the season very much alive for him and give him incentive and hope, not shunt him off until next season as many suggested.

September is 4 weeks away

Hogan's collarbone would be an easy target for any opposition.

He would need loads of pain killing injections, his year has been tough enough as it is

I hope he isn't rushed back

time for Pedo or The Weid to take another chance

Agree with those who say to not put Jesse on ice.   With a bit of luck we make it and a bit more luck Jesse has recovered.  If so he deserves the right to play, who knows when he may get another chance.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
