Made the trip up from Hobart as we are missing our standard Bellereve oval game this year. Lads looked sharp and seemed to spend a fair bit of time on forward entries. Petty seemed mostly forward and in good spirits. The mood seemed energetic amongst the players. Clayton seems raring to go.10 points

Anyone notice that the club gave Kynan his father's first jumper number when he started. No. 41.7 points

Agree, culture doesn’t prevent bad times, it helps you get through the bad times. The slump we’re in doesn’t show the culture is bad, but how we come through it will show where we’re at.7 points

If there is 1 game we shouldn't drop Petty, it's this one. North are light on for key backs. It's a chance for him to gain some confidence.7 points
-
It's a shame we can't loan Petty out like in the premier league so he could play us and get back into form. We are the competition kings at playing an out of form opponent into form!!6 points

Let's stop with the TMac forward stuff. He is cooked as a forward, with many posters here reporting he has admitted to it himself. The only reason his career is alive is due to the move back, and he has been one of the few shining lights this season. Unless the suggesting is that we actively tank.6 points

It's amazing to believe that Ben Brown has still kicked more goals than what petty has this season6 points

Without sounding like every other bozo in the media, all the good players we want are happily at other clubs and under contract. It's not easy6 points

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but this weekends match against North is raising money for the BCNA - an amazing organisation that helps women ( and men) and their families during their incredible difficult journey navigating breast cancer. This is a cause very deep to my heart as I lost my beloved mum to breast cancer 8 years ago. If you cannot attend you can purchase a virtual seat. When I looked earlier today only 146 virtual seats have been purchased so they have a long way to go to reach their target of $125,000. i know times are tough for everyone but if you can make a donation you can guarantee it is going to a very good cause. I’m sure many of you will have been affected or had someone close to you affected. Go to pinkladymatch.com.au Go Dees 🩷🩷🩷🩷5 points

Because Carlton, worst supporters in the league , just angry entitled nuffies. As a 10 year old at the prelim in 88 at VFL Park I somehow ended up in a Carlton section. After a Melbourne goal I waved my flag and a grown man yanked it out of my hand and snapped the stick. Hated them ever since4 points

FYI Demon Shop on Brunton Ave ironed on numbers for my grandkids jumpers of that size free, before the Tiges match this year. Keep up the good work4 points

Thanks for putting that together. Makes you re-assess on where we are as a club at the moment, and whether we are actually still in the window. The media are always quick with this line "I can't believe where Melbourne are at the moment given their extremely talented list". The outs emphatically outweigh the ins, although in fairness Trac and Lever would make our side miles better on paper, and JVR is a very good in, while McVee and Windsor have high end potential for the now and the future.4 points

Either you are hiding shmiding WCW, or you need to get that jaundice looked at. is that your partner next to you? I know his face and have seen it before but can place it. He looks familiar.. 😜🤪🤓🤓😂😂4 points

I went hard on north at $5.30 so I can pretty much guarantee they are no chance given my punting record.4 points

Currently doing a match simulation drill with the coaches involved as players. Seems a bit more work than a usual captain's run4 points

Do you get all of your advice from Bigfooty boards? Goodwin has one of the better win/loss records out of the current coaches and also delivered us our first premiership in 57 years. I’m not a Goodwin apologist, but getting over the hyperbole in this thread.4 points

Always great to see a debut. However, I am surprised. I would have thought others from Casey were ahead of him for a debut (AMW for example) but I think it is his two way running, attitude and adaptability that might have given him the nod. His dad was one of my favourite players: dogged and consistent, but also had a great side-step and feint to throw opposition players away from him. It would be great to see this passed down the genetic line.4 points

I am so bored by the negativity on this site and general lack of respect shown to fellow DL’s that I find I am no longer enjoying reading the posts on here. Used to luv it, but now find it hard to get enthused to read them. I now resort to looking for favoured posters, but even these are often in battle with others. There are posters on here that I swear only come out of the woodwork when things ain’t so hot, just to sink their boots in. Never hear from them when things are good. I just don’t understand that. [censored] me, it’s just a game.4 points

Old man Goldstein has had a better year than Draper and Wright. Max has not slowed down at all this year and has a lot of good football yet.3 points

My thoughts go to any who have lost a loved one and also to those currently dealing/living with the scurge. Those that have survived I wish you many many more years. I also know that eve in remission you live with it everyday. My wife is also a survivor. You learn to never take anything for granted. Hopefully , one day, a cure. Strength to all3 points

Can’t wait to the Kolt go again. Had a tough debut, like many before him. worked hard at Casey. Deserves another call up3 points

And this - another player reflecting positively on Greg Stafford: 'Staff's been huge'. I guess it could mean they like what he gives, rather than it necessarily being effective in games, but... https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1581845/demon-debut-hear-from-kynan-brown?videoId=1581845&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=17188665100013 points

Good luck to Browndog junior, loved his Dad for his courage, work ethic and being the ultimate team player. hopefully its the start of a long journey.3 points

If LDU requested a trade at the end of this year, regardless of contract status, I'd hope we do whatever it takes to get him. North wont keep him if he's not 100% buy in. We have a first rounder this year, next year and in 2026 (assuming multiple years becomes available). We might also get a decent pick for Petty, if his form turns around 🤞, and he wants to leave. Some of these would make it work. In short, we'll make it happen if he wants to come. Getting him to commit would be the hard part3 points

Kynan is certainly a goer & good luck to him. I've seen most of Casey games this year & I reckon AMW is more developed & has been in better form but what would I know.3 points
