  1. Also, James Harmes, with a broken hand, still had 23 touches and 8 tackles and still curbed Rory Sloane's influence for most of the night. He is really becoming a good, consistent player through the midfield for us.

  2. We [censored] did it everyone! I love this club. I love everyone who posts here. I'd even give SWYL and Saty a hug right now. When Nibbler sealed it I reckon the whole street heard me get off the couch a fist pump like a madman! DEMONS!!! DEMONS!!! DEMONS!!!!!!!!

  7. I don't think we are weak in recent last quarters. Both Geelong and Adelaide have recently had 10 day breaks. Whereas we have had 7 day breaks after a Darwin game a few weeks ago. Huge effort to almost hold on last week Adelaide should have been much fresher than us and we had a few walking wounded tonight eg Hogan and Harmes. A mammoth effort for the team to hold on. Very proud of the lads.

  8. One thing we proved today. The coaches picked the right McDonald to become a forward.

  9. It was not pretty, it was not easy, it was actually pretty damn ugly and we did not particularly play well for the majority of the game. But my friends, all of that means precisely bugger all right now. The only thing that matters was the result and we did it. The game was not on our terms early but we just kept grinding, when the Crows came back hard and the memory of last week fresh in their minds they held firm. An outsider looking in may not understand why this was such a great win. But to hang on like that will do wonders for the mindset. We will restore the belief that we can do great things in this game. The was NOT a flat track bullies game from MFC. Dees, you did us proud!

  15. Loved: Lewis tonight, he was really good early when the rest of the team were not on. Two goals as well, great 300th game! Loved: How we slowed the game down when the rain came in, switched the game style which we didn't do last week. Loved: The coaches box celebration at the end of the game. Loved: Bringing in the staff for the team song. Week in week out it's like listening to Politicians talking in interviews and you don't see any spontaneity . This win obviously meant something.

  16. FFS enjoy it. They are a good side. We played hard tough footy in the first half but lacked polish. We then dominated in a hostile environment and held them out in the last.

  17. 22 touches, 12 tackles and the sealer. Not your best work dazzle, although we can claim you went the 'reverse psychology' route and it worked like a charm!

  19. I don’t often come on here during a game and this will be my last post. You guys are pathetic under pressure. Did you expect Adelaide to roll over? They’re a quality side at home, in form for a spot in the eight. It’s going to be tough but I’m confident we’ve got this

  20. If you watch that clip, ANB is at that stoppage when Oliver kicks it forward. By the time Petracca gets his hands on the ball he has busted a gut to run forward at the death, beat everyone there and kick the sealer. His running isn't for nothing.

  21. 2 things: 1. Clayton Oliver is unbelievable. He is the best player I have seen in a Melbourne jumper. Ever. 2. If Frost can stop touching things: eg- the ball, the opposition etc, I really think he could be a player

  25. Tonight was the first time for me. I left the house for a walk around the block when Tex was lining up after the Frost free. I couldn’t physically watch anymore. Told the crew at home to leave the outside light on if we win. The walk took 5 minutes and when I got back there was no light on. That was one sick joke they played on me. I’m only calming down now after watching the last 3 minutes. We should be extremely proud tonight Demonlanders.

  30. Free kicks 22-15 to Adelaide, quel surprise! I think we won only one for them incorrectly disposing, yet it was happening all game. I reckon the umpiring is worth about 4 goals against in Adelaide and Geelong, and 6 in Perth, so we won big!

  31. I really like the way Petracca is settling into his midfield role. He seems to have realised that he doesn’t need to tear the game apart single-handed and do the ‘highlight reel’ things to have an impact. Keep it simple and do it well.

  32. I haven't been able to see the game yet, but I was checking on my phone and when we went from 30 points up to 14 points up with 10 minutes left, I completely lost all confidence. I'm sure there were parts of the fourth which stank and we probably made similar errors to last week, but to hold on and actually get it done, on the road, with the extreme pressure that this game put on us just to stay in the finals hunt, is immense. Adelaide is a good team. Their last two home games were wins against West Coast and Geelong, and they had most of their best players back.

  33. I love this club. It makes me anxious, frustrated and angry sometimes but wins like that just make your weekend. I’m happy for the club and all of you guys, the supporters. Heart still racing! Big club circle for the song and FMD, Goodwin showed emotion. So happy right now.

  34. Some smart football throughout tonight and after weathering the early storm a getting over a lot of fumbling the boys were very good in their decision making and playing the percentages. Tmac was exceptional with his body work and plenty of smart body work by all around the stoppages

  36. I don't even care right now that we struggled mightily in the last term. With the rain tumbling down we handled it better and held on to record such an important win for our season. I think we showed better maturity, although of course we still need to improve it. But that will come with experience. I'm just so damn stoked with that win. We bloody deserved it!

  46. I know it’s probably an obvious thing to say but I really feel like we are one big win away from this team kicking into the next gear. And I don’t mean big win in terms of margin against a lower team I mean getting a win against a contender that will give the players the confidence in themselves and each other. I’ve still become pragmatic about this season (I guess it’s MFCSS) but it does still keep that little spark in my heart alive!
