Very, very happy. I was invited to a corporate box today. I arrived to find myself the only Dee supporter amongst 15 smug Magpie medicos - almost the worst type of supporter. Well it was my lucky day - I managed to guess the first goal kicker and was the only one to pick that Melbourne would be in front at half, 3/4 and full time. Only missed out on the 1/4 time lead. Go Dees!!!!19 points

It's a grand old flag. I need to apologise to my students for my total lack of interest in anything they have been doing. I just don't understand why the Queen's birthday is not a holiday in China. GO DEES!15 points

I'm too honest of a person and decided to go to work. I'll be home around half time but I'll be recording the game to watch from the start. Please hold off on posting any scores, updates or general comments during the game. Regards, Ethan.14 points

I didn't get into Melbourne until 7pm last night and won't get home to Perf until midnight tonight but that was totally worth it.13 points

Frost might have saved us a couple 100k on a decent defender because he was super! Il cop the small mistakes but being down back just suits him. No more forward experiment.. ever!11 points

Up n about with my one year old girls. I've put on their little hand knitted red and blue scarves and we're playing 'bash the magpie' with one of their toys. It's actually a butcher bird, but whatever.11 points

Up at 7:30 here in Melbourne on holidays with the family. My 8 year old is booked into the pre game clinic for a kick on the MCG. Our first time to the ground. Can't wait but a bit nervous about the game.11 points

Fantastic stuff. Some will lament some poor decision making at times, and we turned it over a little, but the intent and willingness of the players to run hard was simply fantastic. This is not a fickle and soft club anymore. Gawn was immense and the midfield smashed theirs. Kennedy responded superbly and our backline was fantastic. They make the odd mistake but the kids were alright today. When the press works it works VERY well. Our forward line was great as well. Kent had a ripper, Hogan got 3, Dawes worked his backside off and Petracca... well... this kid is going to be something. And the cherry on the top? Sticking it up the Pies!10 points

No changes. Except 90 less fuc%$^n handballs. Against the Swans, they will destroy us if we continue to f$^^k around with the footy10 points

Great Emma Quayle article on the development of Jack W.http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-2016-collingwoods-view-of-the-day-melbourne-debutant-jack-watts-was-monstered-by-magpies-20160609-gpfrjc.html One of the more interesting reflections on Jack's debut game is from Russell Robertson: "It was up to the boys that day to make sure he was protected, and look after him, and assimilate him into the team. And I'm not sure we looked after him very well." Can't help but think Jack's debut would have been different if Neitz was still there. But that is history and Jack has come a long way. Again to quote Robbo: "Some weeks it's almost like, God, he's so good to watch," he said. "He does all the little things that make you think, I'm glad I got to come along today and watch Jack play...There's the little hangers he takes; he turns blokes inside out; his kicking has been brilliant; he kicks nice goals; he's always thinking those two or three seconds ahead of the game...He's a beautiful player to watch when he's flourishing, and the boys are getting the ball to him so much more now. They're saying: 'There you go Jack, do your thing', and it's a really nice thing to see." Hope Jack is BOG today! Also hope we win so our DL 'Nasher' can he see his first live Demons victory!10 points

Thought it was very poor of Collingwood to leave the ground before the medal/cup was presented to Gawn. Very poor sportsmanship and an insult to Neale Daniher.9 points

Just noticed that Neale Daniher has received the MEMBER (AM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA in the Queen Birthday honours Mr Neale Francis Daniher VIC.: For significant service to community health through support for people with Motor Neurone Disease and their families, and to Australian rules football. Highly, highly deserved. A great honour for a very honourable man. Would be great for the Dees to top it off with a win...I heard him say (with some humour) that last year's pep talk to the players didn't help them win but hopes his talk to them this year spurs them to victory.9 points

I am informed that we have not beaten the Pies twice in the same season for 28 years. The Single malt taste very good tonight.8 points

If this umpire could do his job properly, he wouldn't need to ask rhetorical questions of big Max. Leave the players alone Nicholls. I can assure you, no one cares about your little tantrum.8 points

Both Oscar and Tom McDonald look far better with the assistance of Frost in the backline (our coaching staff are a clever bunch), all three were very good today.7 points

Not sure if it's been specifically mentioned, but how good was Petracca's goal in the second term? The pick up, spin, push off and then goal was sublime. His sure hands at both ground level and in the air, as well as his explosiveness and ability to quickly change direction in a pack make him such an exciting prospect. Really looking forward to his second half of the year. And just quietly, I'm confident we can push the Swans all the way this Sunday as well. With a few players going down and their confidence taking a hit they are ripe for the picking. Could it be our turning point heading into the bye?7 points

Negative first. Stop handballing and overusing it. It was so frustrating. Kick the thing. Now positives Wow what a fantastic day. just in everything. The weather, the slide, the money raised for MND and of course the game. Maxy I said it years ago. He is a cult hero. His owned that 2nd quarter and just had an all round game. Love how we rested him in the forward line and he an all round game. Jones hated your first 4 disposals but you just dominated after that. Just carved up greenwood. Just loved u as our captain and I love this photo after the game. Viney u are just a tough bugger. Awesome game and loved how he kicked the 1st goal. So rapt to see Trenners get through another game, kick a goal and see the boys get around him. Just so happy with everyone and I also thought Chris Dawes was fantastic and did some super things today. I read on twitter that max said this. Did her really say it. Max Gawn: "I knew I was in for a big day when I saw Witts in the 22." #AFLDeesPies7 points

The bald umpire is twerp but not a [censored] cake like Pannell. I think we should be turning the focus quickly from how well we played to when Colloingwood should sack its coach. Personally,I think they should pretend to back him then do a quick switch at the end of the season , then cast the net for someone more arrogant and worse with the players .7 points

Well Well Well, all those fellow landers that know (me included) have been saying for a while now that Sam Frost should be played down back! I thought today he was excellent and certainly dispelled any doubts that he will be a Pinacle Defender for years to come! Reminded me of Glen Jacovich today (no mean feat) Produced Run, Carry, Grunt and surety by hand and foot! Well done young man!!6 points

We really need to give our coaching staff a lot of credit for pulling this rabbit out of the hat.6 points

That means we are just like most teams then! Be happy with the win. It was one we should have won and we did. You are doomed to a life of misery if you can't find some joy in beating the Pies on QB.6 points

Was up at Main Beach for the weekend. My husband wanted to stay there another day which would be the first time in 20 years we would have missed a QB match but I insisted and we came home last night. He thinks Collingwood are going to get thrashed. I hope he is right.6 points

Yeah that is terrible. Wish they'd go back to the old Reserves competition. I remember as a kid you'd get to the game early just to watch the 2s play.6 points
