If we lose this week I will?

Be asking Tony Mockbell for a fresh “batch” and changing my number!

I'll move on. Losing is easier when we're not contending for the flag.

I won't be angry, I'll be disappointed

I won't be surprised and I won't let it ruin my Saturday night

Turn my phone off to avoid social media and the 142 posts from the bombers fans I have on social media.

Same thing I’ll do if we win. Continue on with my life as usual.

Finally accept that 2025 is not meant to be.

Not be surprised

My expectations are so low now that just not getting thrashed would be a god send. A win is a bonus.

...not be remotely surprised.

We're clearly a really bad football team. Injuries barely begin to explain what's happening with us.

The fact that the coach, media and many fans thought last week was a significant step forward is damning.

Get depressed, mope, question what have I done to deserve this,

then saddle up for the next game

Where would a scrappy win against a 14th placed Essendon get us? Or rd 7 when we play Richmond or Rd 8 against the Eagles. Any wins in these 3 games is merely fools gold.

Not care!

Paris Roubaix is on, the Masters is on, the northern rivers autumnal weather is magic and very conducive to golf, cycling and surfing, and pub beers! 🤌🤜

same thing i do after every game. rant on demonland for a few hours and then move on with my life

Sounds like me 🤣

I'll be a little bit surprised if we lose, actually.

And obviously disappointed.

Ever spot we climb on the ladder downgrades Essendon's draft pick, and that is an important task.

Plus, win this one and we get a bit of momentum and sneak a win over Fremantle and then we can knock off Richmond and the Eagles and we'll have an even win-loss record by round 8 and have a mandate to just get obnoxiously violent at Hawthorn and get the big upset despite incurring a few suspensions and boooyaaa we're back.

Wheeeeeeeeeee! Wheeeeeeee!

(that sound is me riding the unicycle which is our current bandwagon)

I’ve made a rod for my own back. My wife’s Essendon membership was about to lapse. Would have been 25 years, but I renewed it without telling her as a surprise.

It arrived today and she has already got the stickers out threatening that they’re going on the car and our son will change to them if we don’t win.

I’m not saying I’m an [censored], but I’ve done smarter things.

I'll be at the comedy festival happy as Larry after a few margaritas

Gather round is great - means we can do something else in footy season for a weekend.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
