Every year when I hear who’s won this award I have the same thought: what if Neale’s not given the honour while he’s still alive. This is a great relief. What a beautiful soul he is. 7 2 7 1 Quote

TRACATTACK 232 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 A magnificent accolade for Neale and his family for their tireless work in raising money, and most importantly, awareness of this dreadful disease. I have lost two of my closest friends to MND and seen its devastating effect. Am so happy the Rev has been recognised in his lifetime. He will leave a brilliant and lasting legacy. DeelightfulPlay 2,722 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Neale's acceptance speech was selfless and visionary. Not a dry eye in the house during, for good reason. What a well deserved award for all of his hard work! 6 3 Quote

Bobby McKenzie 2,408 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 So glad this courageous human being took out this prestigious award. Joined many with a tear or two when I heard the news. Such a fighter being over ten years beyond the average life expectancy. Stay around Neale for another Demon premiership this year.I A thoroughly deserved honour. Congratulations. 7 3 Quote
Lexinator 1,931 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Well done, Neale, an award long overdue. You have left an indelible legacy in your fight against the beast. My sister died from MND in 2000 and back then barely anyone had heard of it or knew what it was. Neale's bravery and selflessness to put himself in the spotlight to campaign and help those suffering from this fatal disease has been the main reason MND is widely known in society today. There are no amount words I could personally put together to convey my gratitude to him. Neale, you are a true hero. 1 8 Quote
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew 5,689 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Could Neale somehow get to see all your words (which I share; thank you for finding them)? 1 2 Quote

Yeah finding the words is very hard. I haven’t watched any of the coverage yet, I’d forgotten it was on and I was watching the tennis. Got a text that just said “Neale, finally 💖” and I burst into tears. The relief was overwhelming. 3 4 Quote
