We'd be stuffed if we lost Petty, given May is getting on

We'd be even more stuffed if we lost Windsor, he has A++ grader sort of ceiling with his athleticism

Petty for mine because I never worried about Windsor going anywhere at this stage.

I am thrilled to secure a key position player who is only 24 and a proven defender, a proven contested mark and a potential gun forward.

And just for context, it took Tmac 2 entire seasons to find the form he’s currently in post a Lisfranc injury. Every man and his dog wanted him paid out and delisted. Now everyone hopes he stays on.

Same for me, always happy for our players to re-sign if they are contributing or have the potential to do so.

Petty was less expected is all that turns the dial for me.

Tell you what, it's an interesting under-the-radar way for the club to affirm the coach has the support of the players.

Voted for Windsor but both are absolutely key players for our future and present

Windsor Easily!

Two great signings. I voted for Petty. I was worried that he might have been gone this trade window and he would have been very difficult to replace. Despite not playing his best footy this year I still rate him very highly.
I never had any fear of Windsor leaving.

Has Petty resigned due to the fact Adelaide have no more interest?

I've voted Petty because I guess I (naively) assumed we'd resign Windsor at some point, but was pretty certain we'd lose Petty for one tenth of a pittance, which would have been especially galling considering his market value at the end of last year.

I'm fairly confident we'll see a rejuvenated Petty and Oliver next year after a proper preseason, so it's very important we hold onto both of them. Their value is about as low as it can be at the moment, so a trade is the worst possible outcome (I don't buy the Oliver trade rumours anyway, but I did expect Petty to go).

Hopeful for Petty after a full pre season, excited for Windsor.

It’s Windsor for me.   He came in round one, and has not left.  In my view, he has never looked out of place.  He has lightning speed, great ability to change direction and excellent decision making.  I get excited every time he gets the ball.  Not all players have that x factor.  He does.  I want him in red and blue forever.

Re-signed perhaps?

The hyphen makes all the difference in this instance !!    🤣

Exactly this.

Jackson, Lever, Scully (and much earlier, Nathan Buckley) are still the exception, not the rule. And may that be the case for a good while longer.

Petty seemed close to a certainty to leave less than a year ago. I think he's an exceptional tall defender - but even above average ones are hard to find.

Thanks Professor

Funny leading up to the last draft I was hoping we would pick Curtin or O’Sullivan at our first pick. Partly due to the fact that Petty had tried to push through a trade to the Crows and I thought with their mature bodies they both could have a good impact in the seniors in their first year.
Fast forward to now Petty has resigned and Windsor has had a far greater impact in his first year than either Curtin or O’Sullivan.

Can we afford to lose a 197cm 24yo?  no.  Our list has zero Talls over 195cm who are under 30

Windsor is a kid, was always going to sign. So Petty easily the more impressive signing

Petty is playing without confidence & has been no better than Tomlinson this year.

See what Jaded no more said above. He is 100% right. Petty will return to being a great player.

My vote goes to Tom Petty's distant cousin Harrison who didn't break too many hearts.
