AFL Trade Radio

Featured Replies

AFL media’s most tedious product makes its return today. During the trade period AFL Trade Radio produces enormous lashings of interviews and commentary that are mainly rehashed material that we already know about with the odd scoop thrown in when it happens.

If you happen to be tuned in when they bring up one of those scoops, please let us know.

User Warning:

Listen with caution.

Listening to Trade Radio can make you drowsy and dumber.

Do not operate machinery while listening.

Guess America has the Fast and Furious franchise, Australia has Trade Radio!

Trade radio right now or The TV test pattern … close tie for most engaging entertainment!!! I’ll completely give it a miss until the actual trade week opens.

Do yourself a favour and never listen to this: it’s literally a waste of life.

AFL Trade Radio today - a lot of rehashing stories already covered elsewhere. Of Melbourne interest, some discussion on a potential replacement for Brodie Grundy including mention of Flynn from GWS (who apparently wants to go to WA) and the fact that Verrall and Farris-White are a long way off being ready to give Max a hand in the ruck. Also a speculative multi-club that ends up with Melbourne getting Tom Lynch for pick 5.  That deal would leave us with yet another expensive forward on the sidelines.

I sincerely hope you meant 'Rheem'...

Naughty - and I mean naughty - autocorrect!

It would appear that according to Kane Cornes, Melbourne is under great pressure in this trade period.

Got to talk about something since there isn't much to talk about....

But i kinda agree with Corn, i don't agree we are "under pressure" but you could argue a few teams have gone past us this year. Will be a big off season for the Dees.

Pressure is a privilege

A job interviewer once asked me if I could perform under pressure.

I said "No, but I'll give Bohemian Rhapsody a go".

Essendon in a nutshell.. even they laughed on the coach..

Rather listen to at the 3rd stroke it will be 10:25 than a bunch of nupties making up nonsense.

From the media, yes. We’re generally rated a premiership contender with a generational list that has a deficiency in one area of the ground.

I don’t necessarily prescribe to the theory that we don’t already have the talent in place to address this, but the consistent narrative will be ‘will Melbourne try and fix the obvious problem, or stubbornly stick with what they have already tried’.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
