Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So correct me if I'm wrong but our first pick is likely to be #7 on the night now with a Jed Walter bid and North getting 3 for McKay.

Reid, Curtin, McKercher, Duursma, Watson all gone by our pick? Who does that leave?

Yeah [censored] situation. 2019 it was the GCS who took Anderson from us. This year looking like Norf will take McKercher.

Sanders maybe our next best choice. I hope North take him instead.

Have a link? Would like to to listen to the interview.

Lamb said Grundy had “handled himself magnificently” in tough circumstances at Melbourne as he was left out of the Demons’ finals campaign.

“We acknowledge it was a difficult end to the season for Brodes, but he handled himself magnificently really, for a player of his calibre,” he said.

“He actually said how much he loves the place in his exit interview, he has said that he would like to get to Sydney … purely that’s a desire to play regular senior footy, which is what Sydney has obviously offered him.

“He is contracted and we don’t need him to go, and if we can’t get a deal done we’re more than comfortable for him to stay.”

That is a great way of putting it. Grundy will be forced to play ball otherwise god forbid we’ll be stuck with him and he’ll be stuck with us.

Sanders and O’Sullivan. You’re right though, despite having a high pick we look likely to miss out on the elite crop unless we can trade up further. Mckercher is exactly what need in our midfield now.

Both those players are as good as any. Sanders uses the ball well. He is class. O’Sullivan is a big athletic key back, with sticky hands. Any of those guys could get top 5

I agree they’re both good young talent and I’d be happy to have either at the club. They lack X factor/game breaking ability of the  top end group. Sanders will likely have the best career of the lot IMO.

Huh? Sydney will play ball or be without a ruckman. We'll be fair in what we ask or they can sod off.

O'Sullivan will be a chance if he slips a spot or 2. 198CMS and in the 90's kg wise already. Probably will not need more than a pre season or so to fit in as a 3rd Tall then eventually 1st or 2nd KPB.

If we miss out on him we may have a chance to pick up Murphy (if we nab GC's pick 10) a KPB that needs a few KGs on his 200cm but looks a good type. In this situation it would be ok if it was Sanders and Murphy.

Of course we will hopefully get Kalani White in the 2025 draft which will be taken into account in our next couple of dratfs.

We should be in Schulz ear about joining us didn’t realise he is only 25, we can offer up a better pick than Collingwood, plus it would be nice to steal a player they wanted

The only issue is… he’s extremely home sick. And will do anything to go home. To Collingwood. The football club.

A lot to play out.

But I'll be super disappointed if we can't manage to move up the draft to get one of McKertcher, Sanders, Duursma or Watson with the hand we have.

It's a priority for us to get some new high end talent to compliment our list.

Not thrilled with the dogs ability to get GC's pick 4. But we have other avenues.

Personally I'd like to go all in for three picks inside 10 this draft, two players in the top 7 hopefully.

Another report says they will f give 10,17 and future 1st round pick Dogs must have someone they really want at 4 to give up that much.

Picks 10, 17 and ~10 would be a crazy amount to give up for Watson, a small fwd. that’s more than the Cats gave for Cameron.

Nick Haynes (GWS) is on a reported 1.2m-1.5m in his final year.

GWS have gone on record saying they would cover some of his cap.

Would you take him on a 2 year deal (2nd year would be peanuts circa 300-400K) if GWS paid 500K + Pick 15? Or something along those lines. Would you take his full salary if GWS offered Pick 6?

If we have the cap space this year due to Grundy leaving and its not going to be spent why wouldn't you do it? it would add some back line depth as well.

Then you could goto GCS and say Pick 13,15,39 (2800 pts) for Pick 4.

good lord their cap is [censored]. Haynes doesn’t have much footy left, has been the sub a few times this year.

A quality defender in his day though

I'm sure you have asked this everytime we've managed to move up the order of the draft.

Let the cobblers do the cobbling eh?

And how successful were we in moving up the draft last year to get into the top 10.

Cobblers need tools and suggesting they should do something without them is silly. Why suggest something when you don’t seem to know how it might be achieved?

FWIW I agree with the sentiment but I just can’t see a way it can be done.

1- Reid@WCE 2-Walter@suns academy  3- Curtin@NMFC 4- Mckercher@NMFC compo 5- Zane Duursma @Hawks 6- Watson@Dogs 7-Sanders@Dees 👏👏

then we grab pick 10 (12/13) off suns to get O’Sullivan, Wilson or Murphy

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
