Except he does. That’s his GameDay hair. His hair sans-product is very different and he’s not so easily recognisable. I watched his brother play for Coldstream a few weeks ago and didn’t realise it was Bayley sitting in the back of a ute only 20 feet away.

Last year Pauline asked him if he’d ever think of changing his ‘do. He said, “I can’t mum, it’s my signature look.” 😂

Excellent research and insights.

But gee BT loves commenting on the style.

Laurie or Smith to sub.

Would be tough to put smith sub as he played an ok game, but he is just so perfect as the sub.  Liked what Laurie did, not outstanding but needs a chance not just straight out!

Not sure bringing Tmac on a wet and horrible day is ideal.

Have some not learnt from the Ben Brown in Alice Spring fiasco?

Nothing To See Here GIF by South Park

Predictably Waffley and S*obbo completely dismissed the incident on 360. Wasn't a bump they said, lol.

If it happened earlier in the year when the AFL were cracking down on head high incidents, they would have been all over it like a rash

Wow really surprised particularly with McAdam suffering a broken cheekbone.

Nothing surprises me about the AFL anymore. They look after their important clubs and the hell with the rest.
It’s a dream outcome for them to have a final in NSW. They’ll make sure it happens one way or another.

I thought the McCartin hit was a text book suspension given the AFL’s campaign against head high contact and the fact that McAdam has a busted face.

Oh well, I’d be more disappointed if Sunday was a must win.

I've given up watching any of the football shows this year. Haven't missed them one bit. Front bar the exception

I think Sydney argued a good case. The change of direction impacted positioning and McCartin was tracking ball not player.
On another note, Trac said he and some players were under the weather, hence why not in the studio. Not sure if it’s true Or posturing for a few late outs if the game is a dead rubber.

Funny you mention that as I was going to bring it up the other day, but when the camera showed Petracca on the bench on gameday I thought to myself his eyes look shot and wondered whether he was sick at the time, especially given he was a bit off.

Did not look a happy camper on Sunday.

The AFL Judiciary and processes is and forever will be totally Basket Case material. How Mc Cartin gets of is the stuff of Älice in Wonderland!

Not great news but better now than in September I guess.

AFL theatre continues..

It's a corrupt methodology.

And accountable  to ????????

Yes I did notice Petracca eyes on Sunday. He did get a hit in the face in the 2nd quarter where he went down for a bit. Could have been that. But yes he was a bit off Sunday.

Just tell the AFL we don't want McCartin knocking our player out and getting off so we are resting them.

Hibbo officially concussed is disappointing. I thought he deserved to be in the team ahead of scache and Tomlinson.

I'd also have him ahead of bowey and Salem based on form this year

Not a bad idea at all.

Nothing surprises me about the AFL anymore.

As ive posted a number of times, i think the logical rule change about the ball hitting the post is if it goes thru, its a goal (by the by, a benefit I haven't highlighted is that unlike a technological solution, that solution is replicable at every single level, from under 8s, to the ammos, to state leagues).

I have not heard a single media person support what would be a cost free way to remove at least one scenario where a mistake is made that costs a game (you would still need ARC for touched).

In fact every single media person i have heard respond to the suggestion had rejected it out of hand.

Any number of stupid reasons are given for rejecting - tradition being the most common (as if they've had video calls and the stand rule since 1859. And some of the same people are advocating for a NHL or NFL style video review after all scores and resetting the clock if there is a scoring error).

But one of the most common, and funniest, responses I've heard, including from Whateley, is that the AFL just need to get the system right.

The AFL get a system right?

I can barely think of a single system the AFL is responsible for that isn't deeply flawed - the MRO, ARC, tribunal,  finals ticketing, fixturing, AFLW, rule development and implementation, umpiring, equalisation, free agency compensation. The list goes on.

And people seriously see the solution to this ARC mess as the AFL developing and implementing a robust and effective system and processes?

I mean come on.

Just look at the crows and dees non goals/goals.

In BOTH, completely predictable, instances the system and procceses the AFL has had 15 years to get right were CORRECTLY FOLLOWED!!!!!!!.

The system operated exactly as designed by the bloody AFL!

And the solution to this mess is the AFL overhauling a sytem they have designed and/or coming up with another process to bolt on with no thought about unintended consequences of doing so.

Jesus wept.

On the media, they don't really want simple solutions either  - they're as addicted to controversy ad the AFL.

cmon guys not much in the McCartin incident. he never changed his shape and was looking for the ball.

i know there have been bad decisions made based on injury outcome but let’s not add this to the pile

Tricky Gill's shocking presser the other day about the goal umpiring sums him up.   He doesnt care. System works nothing to see here.

Doubt the AFL will appeal Mc Cartin getting off.  Tricky Gill will probably be helping Swans cheersquad hold up the banner for Buddy farewell.

I dont care if we lose this one. We've been set up.  Finishing 4th is fine.

Why is Tricky Gill still hanging around? Can Dillion speak?

But Tricky Gill does have  a pretty hairdo - I can't comment on Dill's as I wouldn't recognise him if I ran over him.

Well they started the process of ensuring Sydney's playing in finals at Adelaide Oval last weekend - just as they ensured Carlton playing finals the previous weekend.  Any coincidence that abject failure of their precious ARC helped their favourite teams twice in two weeks?  Maybe I am a conspiracy theorist after all.

An absolute amateur multimillion dollar enterprise that cant get technology right that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg - ARC, microphones for journalists at press conferences just for starters.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
