Saints can steal this.

How the hell did Grundy not deserve and over the shoulder free then???

Can't say I've been impressed with this performance.

Kozzie needs to be dragged now.

Night over.

Been carrying the bloke for eight games.

Gee we are making this harder than it needs to be

Meh .... We've looked average most of the year.

Look even more average!

Saints have a two player bench.

If we don’t win this game it is time for some serious discussions at the club.

If that was a saints player 100% free kick in the square.

That’s why the kick should have gone 10 out, Grundy goes at it and either gets held or the front on contact would be early.

For the first time I genuinely think Kozzie needs a spell at Casey.

Just messaged Brownie

2 weeks at least

Been ok, will be a travesty if we don't win with their interchange looking like an episode of M.A.S.H.

Grundy. Take a contested mark !!! Sometime ever. He’s hopeless in a marking contest

Softest hands in the team. Strange for someone around the seven foot mark.

Umps helping the saints stay in it.

It's the umpires.. why didnt I think of that?

If we can just hold on (there’s no excuse they are 3 short), we can at least go into next week with something to think about. Uninspiring so far but some good things here and there. Have liked Melk. Kozzie terrible. Where is he?? Feel like he’s still in suspension mode waiting for a contract.

WTF - surely holding our ruckman down off the ball as the throw is is occurring isn't legal?

Not that Fox showed us what actually happened at the throw in.

Wasted forward opportunities are raising their head again, and our decision making by hand is terrible

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
