We have the picks

We have the goal kicking coach

Perhaps Haroldo would prefer life out of the Carlton spotlight...

The most important thing is cap space. I'm pretty sure we don't have much to lure anyone? Unless we lose some players (Jordon, Harmes, another) and find another club to take the last year of the contract of Tmac or BBB ?

Although I'm just guessing.

Did he not just sign like an 8 year contract extension until 2030?

Yep. Don’t let that get in the way of the discussion though 😜

We tried to get him and missed our chance. His contract is too big for us to take on now. We’ll need to look elsewhere or just continue to develop JVR and Jefferson.

Persoanlly think if we got him, with what Choco has done and a change in scenery he would be kicking bags but he is just too expensive and we would be put in a situation like the Pies. We would need Carton to pay more than they would be willing to,

He’s next to useless, hearts the size of a dried pea.

No thanks, Choco might fix the kicking but he's not a heart surgeon. Harry looks like he's playing to preserve himself.

I think there’s only three forwards in the game that would be useful to us, Jeremy Cameron, Toby Greene and Rankine.

Not sure anyone else has the tricks to work in our stifling setup.

*on the assumption we still have Kozzie and Fritta

Curnow.

He's an absolute star forward who doesn't get enough credit especially as he is surrounded by poor individuals.

Would happily pay him a mil a year.

Well down this year though. Bereft of confidence. His goal attempts last night were horrendous.

But he kicked 58 in 21 and 45 last year. He's a very good player and would fill a gaping hole for us. And there aren;t many options out there. Chocco will set him right.

Carlton need to shake-up their list and I reckon McKay could be sacrificed to bring in picks. He might just be gettable.

Curnow is obviously the better player but he is ungettable. The hoards would burn down Ikon Park if he was traded.

True.

He would suit us well getting up the ground

1. Choco will fix him

2. Our midfield will provide much better delivery to him

3. Carlton will be desperate to get rid of him and will pay half his wage

4. JVR and Jefferson will take a few years to hit top gear

5. BBB and TMac clearly on the way out

All adds up to a strong YES

Incredible that he simply can't kick a drop punt for a goal.

He is also dropping a lot of marks.

It’s probably just a form slump, but it does highlight the dangers of long contracts at big money, if you get them wrong, it can stuff up your list.

100%. He can be a stay at home gun, or a running Centre Half Forward. If he was in our forward line we’d win the flag for the next 5 years.

Mckay. No no no

I would be searching for a Mitch Lewis. Best young forward in the league right now (second only to Curnow imv)

Gotta find another like him

Lewis was drafted by Hawthorn with their second selection and seventy-sixth overall in the 2016 AFL draft.

Not so sure about point 2.
Or the second part of 3.

But yes, if the price is right and we get a sports psychologist to screen him first.  Not if he costs us players or too much cap space.

We already took on one stupid long term contract.

Stop searching for the magic bullet unrealistic marquee forward.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
