Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Fremantle's development is puss.

I'd happily back Mark Williams to get the best out of him because the kid certainly has talent.

Him and Kozzie buzzing around the forward line would make defenders think twice.

I reckon we can fit him in somewhere..

Yeah, same. Pace, neat skills, seems to have smarts, he should back himself to do any role outside the key positions.

I've tried to be pretty chill regarding Kossie's decision so far this season and tried not to be too scared by the Dogga Jackson experience, but I'll have to admit, that since the 'Gather Round' Kossie / family decision making and then the well founded rumors started that he'd made made his decision started a few weeks back, I've been visiting the MFC website in expection of good news on a semi-religious basis at least a few times a day (with a few morning and evening prayers then in for good measure).

Mostly looking forward to enjoying us play out the season now as you suggest, but we've now got the Chin Chandler contract to worry about (dam, he shouldn't be playing so well and raising his contract value expctaions).  In all seriousness though, I'd be highly surprised if Kade leaves.  I think his management will fox about with their language and draw it out a bit to make sure that get him the best terms he can at the MFC (probably more though long tenure than $), but I sense that Kade himself is pretty emotionally committed and settled at the MFC to be actively seeking out options else where.

Kade seemed very tight with Gus during a channel 7 interview. Would be surprised if he left.

Well done to the Dees and Kozzie.

His pace and skills are a class above the rest and he is so clever with the pill. He can be one of the most damaging players with his ability to start and finish off bursts from the defensive side of centre.

I’ve conceded defeat… I’m not getting a single thing done today. So what I’m doing (and I’d advise this for anyone who can) is watching the replay of Saturday’s game again. The warm n fuzzy you get every time you see our beloved #36 is well worth getting sweet fa done today. 😁

The plight of Luke Jackson and Jayden Hunt are proving to be great examples of why players should re-sign rather than go elsewhere. Either go for more money and be held to unrealistic expectations, or go for more opportunities at a weaker club and get thrashed non stop haha.  Not saying these situations always play out like this, but they're a great example to guys like Chandler who might have options to consider.

Jayden’s and Jackson’s plights are poles apart. Jayden DIDN’T WANT TO LEAVE. He desperately wanted to stay with us. He was given no choice.

But definitely agree that the Jackson situation might sway the likes of Chin to remain a Demon.

Great news. We have a 4 year window ( or more) and our forward line snd midfield has just been improved.

How good is it to have Kossie for another 100 games, 200 plus goals, plenty of snapshots,  even more exciting runs kicking goals, 500 tackles, and a couple of medals around all the team's neck.

Might even win a B and F as well.

All the best Kossie stay fit and have fun.

Shouted the house down when I read of your resigning. Thank you for staying.

See you at Heritage Bank Stadium on Saturday.

To be fair Jayden's hand was forced by the club. No hard feelings towards him AT ALL

I think if Hunty was offered a new deal he would have stayed!

100% Hunty got a raw deal. He didn’t want to go.
I am frankly shocked that he didn’t have more interest from better clubs. Given the trend for fast ball movement and going down the line, I would have thought he could have got a regular game at some decent clubs.
Certainly wasted at goddamn West Coast. What a disgrace they are.

A DA member spoke with Kade this morning and asked him about staying with us. While he wouldn’t commit either way (of course), he did say that he loves the Club and all involved, and that’s to be expected. But he emphasised that he absolutely LOVES playing on the MCG, his favourite ground by far.

Further to this, my DA buddy elaborated…

He said he loves the boys and the club, wants to win a premiership with them this year and barracks for the ❤️ and the 💙 SANFL team Norwood.

Hunt was told that there would be limited opportunity at MFC - now he is getting plenty of game time, albeit at an inferior club.   No hard feelings at all to Jayden.

Jackson on the other hand kept us in limbo, underperformed in the process, and is now on big $ at a club who sold their future in the hope of something that he has yet to prove.  And as a bonus we got 2 picks for this year.  And Brundy.

He might have had to wait a long time for his opportunity, but he’s become a more well rounded and better player because of it. The midfield time he got at Casey made him a complete player at AFL level in that small high half forward role. No chance he would have got midfield time at senior level to develop his gut running and defensive role.
And because he’s such a well rounded player now, he won’t be in and out of the team like a lot of inexperienced players, so I hope he understands that and sticks around long term to reap the rewards. Been in my top 5 best players so far this season.

He DEFINITELY would’ve stayed. He simply DID NOT wanna leave. I heard this from Jayden himself, through tears. And for once I wasn’t the one crying. Well, I was, but that’s neither here nor there coz me.

He and Jackson are two entirely different kettle of fish. I find it offensive to paint their exits with the same brush.

Everyone is looking at the pre-move dynamics of the two examples I gave.

I guess for completeness I could have added Weid, Sauce and Bedford to the discussion

My point was more around the outcome. The grass isn't always greener, despite the longer contracts and more money out there. Need to balance sucess and enjoyment with the other factors. In years gone by I'd have thought that was a glib statement, but pretty sure the Jackson and Hunts moves would be referenced as possible outcomes at some level during the decision making process.

Ta. Post duly fixed!

As an aside, and at the risk of derailing the koz fest, outside of dees supports, is Fritter the most under rated player in the AFL?

A relatively comparable player role wise is Jemery Cameron.

Cameron is an undisputed star, and his numbers this season are unbelievable. I'm not saying Fritter is better, or even as good as Cameron.

Rather, i'm using Cameron as a benchmark for Fritter. And when you compare their career stats , Fritter doesn't lose too much by way of comparison (its worth noting that Fritter played a big chunk of i think 2019 in defence):

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
