Fritta 7-8 weeks according to club. TMac 4-6. That’s our 2 best forwards from the last 5 years.

Time to get inventive.

Agree Thbt JVR certainly earnt a return to the seniors but these injuries are really going to test our depth as we need a bit of height against the Saints and Lions let’s see just how inventive the Footy department can be.!!

Everything is an opportunity. JVR, and Brown will be well served by Marvel. You’d also think we might back Tomlinson in and play Petty forward if needed too. Oddly it’s a good time for us to be playing on a guaranteed dry deck. Get some confidence back in our skills.

Was thinking about May forward. Becoming a little sloppy below his knees and might be a good change to have some half decent leadership forward.

Wiling to bet this was an injury for Fritsch just waiting to happen and he was being managed with it from the start of the season.

He has definitely been carrying something , we knew it was stood on already in pre season and the load of playing footy was probably slowing down recovery.

They took a chance on him getting through the season and it didn’t pay off. Can’t really blame them. Think May I’m the 2021 GF. You win some and lose some.

Fritsch 7-8 weeks all going well.

All will go well, probably better and sooner than expected. The surgery went as well as was hoped for and Fritta has this incredible healing ability. It runs in their family. He’s in really good spirits and that’s always a good thing. He should be ready for finals.

Incidentally, he did what I did in December at our AFLW B&F... Rolled his left ankle which caused a small fracture in a bone in his foot. That’s  where the similarity ends. He didn’t do it running in platform sandals on uneven ground while drunk, and I’m not an elite AFL footballer. 😁

So it’s NOT the dreaded navicular or lisfranc?

Neither. It’s a very small fracture in a very small bone. The rolling of his ankle caused it. The fact that it’s the same foot that was stomped on before round one doesn’t have any bearing on this one.

Well thank god for that! I was prepared for the worst.

Send him our best wishes!

By the way, how close are you with Clayton’s mum? Can you tell her that I can no longer live without Clarry and he has to come back and play please? 😂

I think Petty needs to go forward again, with JVR and possibly Brown. Do they all fit? The Dogs have Ugle, Naughton and Lobb. Tomlinson back in to defence. Whatever the club decides, they need to stick with it hoping it will gel come September

Will definitely send everyone’s best wishes, the family really does appreciate it. 💖

As for Clarry… cheeky bugger never thinks of telling his mum anything. She finds out everything about him by watching the news, just like the rest of us. 🤣

So we KNOW this?

And what small bone in the foot needs a plate but isn’t very important??

I’m just going by what has been said here and the fact that a navicular or lisfranc would require a much longer recovery than 7-8 weeks.
I wonder where @Webber is. He probably knows more than us.

Who said it isn’t an important bone? I know I didn’t. I said it was a very small bone; small as in physical size, not as in importance.

Besides, I’m sure every bone in one’s foot is important. You get a tiny fracture in one of them and they’ll remind you of how important they are with every step you take. 😭

Hi Guys

I missed the game on GWS as I was working. How bad is Fritsch injury and how long do we expect him out for?

So true.
The amount of times I’ve broken little toes and you think “who cares, what are these toes even for”, and you find out they are for walking and stuff 🤪

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
