Just on Tom MacDonald…

6 weeks ago Melksham would have been the most likely experienced player to never play another game for us. Benny Brown has really only come good for about 20% of his time as a Demon. Sorry, I should have said ‘Premiership player’ Benny Brown. You get my point.

Opportunities exist if you can see them, and take them. Tom only needs to come good for a 6 week period. Never write off professional athletes who’ve been in the system as long as these blokes. They know what it takes.

Absolutely THB.  Fingers crossed his rehab sees him freed up a little more,  allowing him to wind back the clock somewhat.

We'll have a better idea where he's at after the next two weeks at Casey.

No way you would risk Fritsch against the swans.  Easy unofficial hit out next week, then Casey the week after

If we beat Hawthorn (a must tbf) then we can just rest a lot of our players against the Swans.

Just finish 4th to play at the G'.

Not sure about this Dub.
We want him prime for the finals , so if declared fit, I reckon we’ll play him in the real stuff

But there is already a break after round 24. Unless you have someone with minor injuries you have to play them to get better form.

Doesn't need to be managed or omitted, but perhaps reduced load during the game.

Gawn plays 90%+ in most games, reduce it to 60-70 % in Rd 24.

MFC should be concentrating 100% on Hawthorn nothing else matters.

We should win this well but if they come hard at us we could be in trouble with lack of forward power.

Forget about Fritsch and Tmac for now.

Why was Brayshaw dressed up looking ridiculous the  other day for the press.  He should be 100% focused on playing this weekend.

I agree with Cornes , AFL players appear to have far too much free time on their hands. They should  be training almost everyday especially this week and sharpening their skills not sticking their noggin infront of the cameras at evey opportunity.

FFS .  get serious MFC  or you'll finish 5th in a blink. Every Carlton supporter will be cheering and screaming for Hawthorn to win this round.   Our game will probably get a very high TV rating.

He is supporting a wonderful cause that the Melbourne Football Club instigated supporting women with breast cancer, The Pink Lady Match.

There are far more important things in life than a game of footy.

Also, doing other things in your week is possible. They don't do this stuff instead of training and planning, they do it as well as.

Normally i'd say 100% uncle but sometimss the recovery from these serious foot injuries can be a week to week proposition.

No doubt they'll want to get some actual game time load in to him prior to finals to get him cherry ripe but we are fast running out of weeks.

If he comes good and we have the bye but Casey is an option then we might have no choice but to play him there for half a game or so.

Gus is in the midst of possibly having his best season in the red & blue, at least in terms of the high levels he is reaching most weeks.

Senior player & very well versed with media now.

He's more than capabale of wearing various hats, knows when to switch things on and rarely puts in a bad game.

Least of our worries imo.

If we had wheeled out a 2nd year rookie etc to handle a presser like this or he was in a form slump then i might be a bit more understanding.

He won't be played if he is not 100% fit. What do you think the Club is going to do ? Hi back to lady year and play unfit players again?

Not after ALL year being conservative about being 100% and not being selected.

He is our best forward also and I am not so sure we can rely on Casey playing I don't know the VFL Finals dates. There is also something about a wildcard round for Finals teams from 4 to say 10.

The gear Gus  was wearing was promoting  our Breast Cancer Game awareness vs Hawks. Gus is always involved in Promotion of other life or matters they the Club is involved in. Also through Gus and Gawn extra promotion around the traps for his podcast is done. Has that affected his firm previously? Don't think so.

Footballers have to go the Club line in this day and age it's line ball what the event or happening is sometimes but we are a Club that has very strong social interest around society.

Is this to what you refer? Looking ridiculous? He was wearing a scarf and beanie, ffs. On this basis, 95% of the footy-going population look ridiculous every weekend.

Is it because they’re pink?  Or is it because they’re BNCA merch and that means he’s not concentrating on footy enough.

Heads up… there’s gonna be 10,000 of us out in the middle of the ‘G on Sunday - many of whom are men - wearing not just pink beanies and scarves, but pink ponchos. So if wearing pink constitutes looking ridiculous, get ready for an overload of otherworldly levels of ridiculousness.

Re Fritta: I don’t know any other details apart from what the Club has issued, that is, he’ll be right for Sydney. I spoke with Pauline for an hour on Tuesday and an hour or so yesterday and… forgot to ask about him. 😬 Soz all, but her and I have gone beyond mother of an MFC footballer and unhinged, slightly deranged cheer squad member, and are now just a couple of good buddies. We have many other things to talk about including, believe it or not, my own son who’s the same age as Bayley. 😁

LOL I have a framed pic of Fritta on the lounge room wall. My son asked if Pauline has a framed pic of him on her lounge room wall. She said “did you kick six goals in a grand final?” Nice one, Paulsy! 😂

Really hope Fritta gets up for round 24.

It's a perfect opportunity to get the rust off and have a run around against a highly competitive side. The game could be a dead rubber if Brisbane and Port go a combined 4-0 and we beat Hawthorn, and therefore no pressure for him to contribute in a meaningful way. Then have a VFL game (if permitted) or a heavy training session in preparation for week 1.

You dont get it.   Politics and football dont mix. Just because curing cancer is very important doesnt mean you constantly ram it down everyones throat  and make comparisons to AFL.

Brayshaw better not  bomb this weekend. Hawthorn players will come for him -pink lady or no pink lady.

Very disappointing WCW!  I’m wondering if you could call Mrs Fritta, enquire in detail as to 6goalfritta’s state of health with particular reference to his recently injured foot, record the conversation and post it on this thread. Perhaps then we could find it in our hearts to forgive you recent transgression.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
