Our odds have shortened considerably from $1.50 to $1.41.

The more interesting thing is that we are paying just $4.10 for a 40+ point win vs the swans $14.00. That is a huge discrepancy. Punters seem pretty confident..

Demonlanders upon hearing:

  1. Jacko has signed up for the next 300 games,
  2. Buddy kicks 1.7 tonight and South loose by five points, and
  3. Grundy to play for Essendon and they pay all of his current salary.

I was at the G the last time Melb played Sydney in a final , lets hope for a similar result:

1987 Melb 21 23 149 to Syd 10 13 73

What a day. I remember it rained nearly the whole game, but Melbourne handled the ball like a dry day. Great memories. I remember shouting at Healy, that he should have stayed a Demon. (Not that he could hear me of course)

For some reason they both have drinking problems.

Very understandable.

Ladbrokes have had us $1.46 to $2.75 all week. $4.10 for over 40 and $51 the draw. not sure how the draw works.

In the mid year game didn't they kick something like 7+ goals from turnovers to our hand full of points?  iirc most of those turnovers were from kickins or around the middle of the ground.

They didn't tag Langdon but cut off supply to him from our turnovers and we just couldn't get our overlap ball movement going.  Brayshaw in the midfield and roaming between the arcs should help that.

When we did get it forward we kicked high and their defenders took a trillion marks.  And they had a massive mismatch of Paddy McCartin on Kozzie who just peeled off.  Max playing forward will be a big improvement on Mitch Brown forward.

That would have been one of our worst game this year.  Longmire may have some new tricks up his sleeve but this will be a very different game!

Dees by 10 nerve racking points.

Paul Roos biggest ever loss as Sydney coach was at the MCG against Melbourne.

Last time we played them Sydney just tackled the man all night. they were ferocious about it but we were off. We also were going though that relaxing after opening up the game faze.

That and our #1 KPD was out injured. It won’t be their tall forwards well need to worry about tonight

I flew in from Adelaide yesterday for the big match at the G. Last year I was fortunate enough to go to all 3 finals match’s due to living in South Australia. The journey was fantastic and I want it to be repeated this year at the G. I’m meeting up with a fellow Demonlander at The Tippler & Co for a pregame meal and  a few wine’s. Let’s win the premiership  in 3 thumping victories. Today win by 30+ points.

Sounds like there'll be a few 'landers there tonight based on what I've read on this thread. I hope they still have that dark ale on tap I've had on my last two visits.

In that sense, where May directs his kick-ins may well have an impact on our fortunes. We need another tall to roam/occupy the field elsewhere from Max's pozzy, supported by a small or two who are quick off the mark for Fwd line entries.

In the last month we have changed our kickins and occassionally switch.  With Salem back we sometimes kick short to him which starts our ball movement chain deeper.  Both tactics neutralise the opp talls parked under the ball for May's long kickins to the boundary.  Longmire is very smart and he will have noticed those so I doubt he will try and park talls at the drop of the ball so much tonight.  We have more strings to 'get out of our d50' bow now which should keep Longmire on his toes a bit.

Has FTB gotten extremely drunk last night? Yes he did.

Is FTB suffering from a morbid hangover in the office this morning? Yes he is.

Will FTB barrack the loudest he ever has for this football club. YES HE [censored] WILL.

Hope we have a particularly loud and feral (by Melbourne standards) fan base tonight, suspect there will be close to 55K of us tonight.

Does In Harmes Way like this post? Yes he does.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
