Clause 1A in Gus' contract looking shaky

Might be playing forward pocket at this rate

Most likely to JJ's wing and Harmes to go to Neale or maybe Rayner

Merge the thread ??

His numbers have been good but he has looked absolutely buggered during games recently.

Been a liability since the knee injury. Will be better for it. Most oppositions attack this side of the ground to expose his questionable fitness.

Jordan covered 14.6 km last week, our 3rd highest, including 2.6 km at high speed (over 18km per hour), our 2nd highest.

That list of emergencies is each in the starting 22 of at least 15 of the other teams.

We have one list issue currently - tall forwards. Aside from that we are well stacked across the board.

I don’t understand why they played Harmes in the slog last Sunday if they intended him to play tomorrow. Did he get rested in the last quarter? Surely JJ won’t miss out again after playing all year - perhaps being freshened up.

Not ideal but if he doesn't play then that's two weeks without a hit out.

Smith ready to be brought back in for the grandfinal, nothing more certain

Back to the premiership winning wing!

Probably the hit out the FD wanted even if it was heavy under foot.  Possibly had a somewhat lighter week on the track vs most to counter the Sunday match.

Gus to JJ's wing yes?

Don't think we used a run with on Neale when we smashed them last time.  Possibly Harmes to Rayner.

Team selection is a brutal business, at least they aren't sitting on their hands.

I also don't know if people have been watching the same guy but he's moving like a freight truck at the moment. If we want to stop getting skinned through the middle we need fit players in there.

Good to see Harmes back a long as he does an effective job on Neale. With Neale attending the center bounces I can see us starting with Petracca at HF and Viney and Brayshaw in the center bounces with Harmes. not the worst setup.

For Jordon's wing position we have a few that can cover there. Melksham has been named there but I do not see that as a full time gig for him tomorrow night. might have a bit part there but ANB might spend more time in that position and depending on defensive matchups I would give Rivers a spell there as well. Hunt I would try to keep in defense as we are getting god run for there with him.

I see a win from the Demon Road Warriors..... Bad luck Lions.....

Melksham named on the wing means Gus is there, nothing surer.

Jordon looked laboured, despite what his running numbers were - Sparrow the way back in for him I think.

Spargo and ANB aren’t in great form but from what I can see, the play roles that are not easily swapped in for someone unless they know where to go and when to go - mainly on defensive structures…

Harmes to Neale, Angus to wing, JJ out.

Spargo lucky imo

Back to Sparrow, Harmes, Viney all being in the same midfield group. The stuff of horrors.

That played in the most dominant finals side in years..

How Spargo continues to get a game is absolutely mindboggling🤯 has done Zilch for weeks and last week was extremely poor

Will be watching Harmes energy levels and ability to run out a full game closely. Surprised to say the least given he played an entire VFL game 5 days ago.

You reckon? JJ has really struggled since the Geelong game.

I see that Dean Kent is an inclusion for St Kilda in what will be his 100th game.

Genuinely forgot that he was still on a senior list.  I wonder if the 100th is a farewell gesture.

How frustrating are how they put out the teams?!!

lions and demons are both listed as having one out and zero ins. When he reality lions are no change and demons brought Harmes in for Jordon.

did I mention I hate the sub rule??

And the other 21 played a finals like game hours before...

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
