we need to swap out some players and try some new players, i thought brown was pretty good tonight some of our other forwards could have a rest. we need to not continue to rotate the same players in and out when they are not playing well.we need to try something  different.

Bit harsh on Salem, Gawn missed an easier one, not to mention 3 goals given away by over hand balling inside our forward 50.

Coaches need to sit Kozzie down and show him

2 x toe pokes inside forward 50 when you just need to put your head over the footy

1 x token arm thrown in at a ground ball contest inside forward 50 missing everything and allowing an easy clearance as opposed to locking it in

Goes for a mark inside 50 in the fourth but puts only one hand up and doesn’t bring ball to ground, Quaynor mops up out the back

Again contested ball on the southern wing late in the game just a hand put in, no ball or body, Pies go inside 50 and take the lead back. That was not long after the 1 arm marking contest

Those are instances which cost you in a game - simple rule ball or body.

Last year he’s hungry and takes ball or body, needs to do better

I tried not to have a go at a ruckman, who has had 31 possies and run himself into the ground. If you want me to though I will, his kicking for goal is disgraceful.

People on here want him up forward, please, he is so slow to give the ball off that when they handball to him, it is a rebound.

Salem shouldn't smile after missing that goal, if your head is truly in the game you wouldn't.

Kozzie was hopeless tonight and I agree he shirked the contest and then tried to play pretty.

The Pies were maniacal. Look at their ferocity at the ball and the man. Maynard could have killed a few of ours. Didn't see that from us.

They use the ball well and we don't.

They kick their goals and we don't.

Fancy having 93 more possies and about 30 more inside 50's and losing. That is unbelievable.

They don't have a total momentum killer on the ground like we do.He has cost us two games IMO. I don't care about pressure acts, if you turn it over every possession. Chandler must be packed up ready to leave, if he can't get a game ahead of ANB.

We lost our fitness guy and it is showing. We have been run over about 7 times now.

We have won one game in Melbourne in the last 10.

The kicking of bombs to the pocket is costing us games. It may have helped us get a flag, but as Scott said, we are so predictable and easy to play against and it is costing us badly.

Our coaches appear to have done absolutely nothing about this. I know what Goody will say, we didn't play our game well enough and long enough.Well how about saying I have not coached well this year.

It helps when the umpires give about 6 soft goals to the opposition and you can't buy a basic free.

There's nothing sustainable about what they're doing,

Manifest nonsense. They’ve done it for 11 weeks, for the same result. That’s the definition of sustainable. Manic pressure and supreme confidence in their ability to win contests have made them Geelong’s obvious challenger. They were outstanding tonight, and exposed us badly on every line. Fabulous defence, brilliant ball movement, manic tackling, and an ability to create 1 on 1 contests in the forward line, which they won more often than not. Nothing about their game is unsustainable when you have that essential self-belief. And they are crazy fit.

They turned up the pressure in the second half and totally smothered us.

Hate to say it it but they wanted it a little more.

Silly boy Langdon giving them extra motivation

Our season was on the line at half and 3qtr time. Now would be a brilliant time for the do gooders to keep their mouths shut and take in a fresh dose of reality. WE WERE SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I don't know what bar you measure success by but that is now the 5th time this year a 4 goal lead has been thrown away. 3rd time we've led at every change but the last and at least the 3rd time where a game has been there to be won and a series of things had to go wrong for us to lose, AND THEY DID. Against the Swans it was the Max miss and some other things, against the Dogs Kozzie miss, May's kick and now it's the stuffed up chest mark on the wing which turned into the winning goal. Spare me the theories, spare me the crap about how we haven't been worked out but our running and pressure was a bit off, spare me loading, spare me all of it. The stakes were high and we failed in the crucial moment. We fluffed our chances, they took theirs. That football club is totally in our head now whether you like it or not. We are their bunny rabbits and it doesn't feel good. All om asking for is just please can people be honest and call a spade a spade, don't sugar-coat.

If you don't like what I'm saying then I'm sorry. There is no way around it, we are not performing when it matters. This isn't up for rebuttal and I won't be engaging in any.

Hang in there Layzie. I think we’ve got some things wrong this year off field, in an attempt to mirror 2021. Interesting to see how we respond for the rest of the year.

Love your passion. I felt that one too.

He is not completely wrong.

The umpires kept them in the game in the first half, granted our goal kicking deficiency too.

There was also a goal that came from Ginivan dropping the ball, what the F**K is that?!

I’m sorry, anyone blaming the umps for tonight’s loss is delusional. That game should have been over at halftime. Petty should know better, that rookie was never going to mark the ball yet he puts two hands in his back. Dumb moments like that cost us, but the most worrying thing I saw live was some of our players were running up and down in the one spot halfway through the third.

Let's not get carried away. Melbourne should've been 8 goals in front at half-time and the game would have been over. Colingwood won by 7 points despite losing every category except the final score and the umpiring. They played brilliantly in the 2nd half but it should've been too late by then.

Don't totally disagree but it sounds like another excuse for their great form. What are we going to say after this one? That they didn't beat a quality opponent? Come on

Just because ‘at this rate’ we won’t make top 4 doesn’t mean we still can’t win it.

Lots of work to do but I still reckon we’ve got the team to do it! 💪👍

I am okay with losing tonight.

We played a good team that many (including here) have underrated for too long.

It was 65 inside 50s to 41. That is a 24 difference and we still lost. That is both an indictment on our offensive and a reflection of Collingwood's defense which again has been underrated all season.

Clubs including Melbourne are allowing them to clear it via the flanks and then through the corridor with nauseating ease.

We haven't played at the MCG for 7 weeks and it [censored] showed tonight.

The club needs to flex some muscle and make sure that never [censored] happens again.

I am so [censored] at the club tonight. Collingwood 100% deserved to win. But imagine your first home game in 6 weeks being this game. We were showed up.

We aren't in [censored] Perth anymore. Grow some balls next year and make sure this never happens again

Our small forward pressure sucks...

Kossi MIA - 0 Tackles

Spargo - 1 Tackle

Time for Bedford and Chandler to get a run at it...

Kozzie and Spargo have been coached to think they're defenders 1st and foremost.

Gotta do something about the backline as well.
Got the pillars May, Lever and Petty but they need some help.
Salem ... Overrated.
Hunt ... Nothing.

How about those inside 50 entries.

We just love kicking it to the pockets don't we?

Agree.

then Brown and Fritsch get totally outbodied or outmarked

Our connection was terrible and forwards easily pushed aside.

Our last quarters have been a huge frustration. We surrender to pressure, concede the lead and we absolutely can’t do anything about it. No spark, we lose shape and panic, give up more easy goals and can’t push forward to give ourselves a chance.

The crowd felt like an extra man at times, much like on QB. We don’t have the voice or numbers of their army.

The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
