Hope we get a bunch of last minuters jumping on board. They were always going to eventually put the back of Q49-Q55 on sale at some point. The other areas of the ground that they have release have about 30 tickets available for purchase. It will still be north of 75K. 3 1 Quote
rpfc 29,027 Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 We had 91k in 2018 against an interstate team when we played Geelong. So doable. 4 Quote

He de mon 942 Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Does anyone know the crowd size tonight ? Was it just me, or was there a lack of atmosphere at the game? The crowd roused slightly when we kicked 3 on the trot, but that was it. A bit disappointing really. 2 Quote

The problem was if you take those bursts out we got comprehensively beaten. Not the crowds fault. 4 Quote

Sydney had way more to cheer about and outside of bursts we were sunk in our seats watching a pretty average outing. Swans silenced the crowd. Pretty simple really. 3 Quote

It was just a weird vibe given it was our first final at home since 2018. 6 Quote

Agree 100% the whole side from the punt road goals to the end of the members was rocking early in the third particularly after the Fritsch and sparrow goals. 2 Quote

Yep I've said it in the other thread, I thought the crowd was pathetic (where we were sitting anyway). There were a few of us trying to gee up the crowd but they were just sitting there like stunned mullets. No idea how to generate some atmosphere, you don't just cheer when a goal is kicked you cheer to rev the team up and create some energy, create some sense of hostility for the opposition. Melbourne supporters just sit there mute. Edit - It was a good turnout though, a touch under 80k is a great result I think. Edited September 2, 2022 by Dr. Gonzo 6 Quote

Felt massive for them. It's hard to gee up people who don't want to be gee'd 🙁 1 1 Quote
DeeZone 10,589 Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 The problem seemed to be that whenever we gained momentum we made unforced errors or gave away stupid free kicks that let them back in for easy goals. Maddening to watch and took away our energy.!! 3 Quote

Maddening to watch and took away our energy.!! Glad to hear someone with a clue comment. The “we just sit there” stereotype is a myth. 2018 was as loud as I can remember. The game style tonight from both sides made for a snore fest. Stark contrast to last night’s Richmond v Bris match. 2 2 Quote
ElDiablo14 5,055 Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 For mine the experience with the crowd was mixed. Some really loud and vocal ferals, some others more calm but riding the wave on the 2nd and 3rd. And even the ones sitting next to me that gave me the looks every time I jumped of my seat or booed the old flopper Franklin. Not like 2018 but much better than your average crowd from this year's H&A 1 Quote

Comprehensively beaten? It was 2 goals the difference at 3/4 time. I think some Melbourne supporters have forgotten they're not their to watch the Harlem Globetrotters. Your role as a supporter is to support not sit on your hands and only cheer when something good or exciting happens. The crowd last night was weak as [censored].
