looks like @binman 's prediction of JVR making a late appearance this season is gaining momentum with JVR emergency!

Probably just an emergency so he can see the family perhaps

I often wonder if they think there is one person out there that believes these type of team placements.

As an aside, this is Fremantle's first home game against us since 2015.

Which is utterly ridiculous.

I wonder whether there is any other match up in the competition where a side hasn't had a home game against another side in 7 years.

Couple of big Vic clubs haven't played in Geelong for a long time, so you could argue they haven't played a home game

Iirc @Lord Nev shared the info. 👍🏽

Harmesy copped a knock early in the second. Not himself the rest of the game, no one had any idea why including the coaches. Apparently felt terrible the next day and then failed the concussion test. He's pretty flat about it by all reports, hope he's right and firing for finals - underrated team player.

It’s why it’s called a fixture and not a draw.

Thanks for explaining. I hope Harmsey is back to his enthusiastic, bubbly self sooner rather than later. Love that guy!

That explains his single digit possessions and might explain that kick into forward 50.

Surprised Banfield was dropped by Freo. Always seems to bob up and kick important goals.

He usually gets the sub gig.  Expect him there.

Harmes’ concussion was broken by Demonland was it not? This place is the sauce.

This may have been covered elsewhere, assuming this happened with a fair chunk of game time left, why did we not use the sub??

Poor Chandler..

Dead set best in form player at Casey who are 15-0, and yet still can't get a crack against blokes who've have been dead set ordinary for 6 weeks.

Thx WC... yes just read LN's quoted post lol.  My bad

I would love to see chandler get a game or two, we risk losing him if we cannot play him especially when he is in better form that some of the players who are playing now. i think we could have rested spargo or ANB to give him a chance.

Does this mean we finally see Gus back in the guts :O

Or Jordan with Gus to wing.

Tomlinson and Harmes out. Lever In. That increases our I.Q.  Tomlinsons weak efforts last week lost us that game. His cards should be marked. Harmes is just random too often.

Sounds plausible.  Spargoat for mine.  ANB seems like a player that needs the miles under his belt each week given his usual role.

Really looking forward to Kozzie playing at CHF though and him crashing the packs to get the ball down to Weideman and when Max is resting forward!

We have only had 3 home games against Essendon out of the last 19

Collingwood hasn't played at Geelong since 1999

Essendon hasn't played at Geelong once since 1993

With 8 defenders, maybe Gus will tag his brother in the midfield and get in his ear about coming to Melbourne....

Starting with Spargo! Hardly hits scoreboard and for all the talk of pressure acts Nar doesn't cut it for me!!

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
