GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Adelaide

Recommended Posts

I've always been reluctant to travel interstate to watch matches ... the thought of flying back after a drubbing, or even a loss, isn't particularly appealing.

The only interstate match I went to was v Swans, about 5 years ago. In an upset, the Demons won at the SCG!! I was visiting my thirdborn (who lived/lives there) and shouted my secondborn a trip there. Very enjoyable long weekend !!!

Hypothetical

You're in hospital likely to be discharged today after spending the day in ED yesterday with a cardiac 'issue'.

Assuming discharge goes ahead, would you:

- watch the Dees game live on the TV

- only watch after knowing the result?

tumblr_mk1gabwMYI1r0ufaco1_400.gif

Watch it live!  If we lose It will be less of a shock than learning it after the event.

Live will be a slow build up to the result!  🙄

Wishing you a speedy return to good health.

Nah love going to interstate games. Different venue, make a weekend of it - catch up will people you haven't seen in years, and when (used to be 'if') the Dee's win - it just adds to it.

Not that I’m excited or anything but…this is my FIRST EVER interstate match!!!  🥳

Look out Adelaide, there’ll be a coven of footy mums behind the goals and make no mistake… we’re NOT to be taken lightly!
😈

GO THE MIGHTY DEES!

❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

I‘ll be there in support WCW.  It will be my first visit to the new Adelaide Oval, and I’ve driven 1200 kms, across three States, to get here.  Looking forward to yelling my lungs out for our Mighty Dees, and clearing the immediate area of Crows fans by 3/4 time. 😇.

Celebration planned in the Barossa tomorrow.

Herald Chun(der) feed announces Robbie Williams as part of Grand Final 'entertainment' this morning. We'd much rather have the ghost of the great Don Williams personally grace the 'G at half-time.

Speaking of Weed "pound for pound" would rather our #26 than the blues #1 in the faux-ruck. If a soufflé can rise twice, thrice, multiple times, Sam can do it. Careful observation by astute footy watchers has revealed despite the online 'fugazi', Weed did contribute manfully last round by playing a serviceable team orientated game.

Rupert shell-shocked apparently has Roxy Music 'Siren' on high rotation this weekend.

Your poor old Uncle Bitter is  taking a well earned break from Manorial responsibilities and enjoying a balmy 28 degrees in downtown Bangkok.

However, I shall be watching the mighty Dees thrash the Crows this afternoon.

No ruck?  No worries! Our mids will create plenty of opportunities and ,if our defence is as miserly as last game, the Crows will be lucky to get 50 points. I'm tipping May to play a cracker. I'm very confident.

I am meeting that Demonland luminary ( and Bangkok tour guide) SWYL at a sports Bar of his recommendation to enjoy the game. SWYL assures me that the establishment has a very welcoming atmosphere and is located in the Toorak of Bangkok. Nana , I believe, is the name of the suburb.

For all you first timers enjoy the game today fellow Dees and enjoy the most picturesque Oval in the world.

I have a few crows supporters to catch up with and to remind them once again we are the reigning premiers and top of the pops.

I will be in full flight today watching our boys do a number on the Crows.

What happens in Bangkok stays in Bangkok, Uncle. Just be careful about what goes where.

One of those ??? games. Irrelevant if we win. Disastrous if we lose.

My concern with the makeshift ruck division is its impact on our ability to score. Other than the Brisbane game it has been our glaring weakness.

Fritsch kicking 6 before half time would be good.

Ive lived in Bangkok for many years. Nana(plaza) is a grimey concrete rabbit warren laced with gogo bars and beer bars off Sukhumvit rd soi 4.

Toorak- it is definitely not..LOL.

Advice...if you go to Nana ,Soi Cowboy or Pattaya be careful what you wish for. Not much good comes out of the Land of Smiles.

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die!
