6-6:that quarter. Probably should have put a couple more on, but great quarter. There only goal came from a dumb may turnover.

Viney is just a bull tonight. That quarter we looked like our old self.

Hope we keep it going & don't stop

BBB been quite good Viney sensational

Make Viney captain every other week. Tearing it apart.

Much...

Much...

Much...

BETTER!

That's that pressure we have missed. And the heart! I saw heart out there!

Hopefully that's what it took to galvanise us, but the important thing is to keep it up, so we have to start Q3 the same way!

❤️

Viney huge, lever marking everything, Weid making a contest. Let's keep it up

WHAT THE [censored] JUST HAPPENED?!?

I hope we got a taste again of who we are, and become addicted. Get hooked, boys!

ANB has been electric tonight absolute star.

Stating the obvious, but the 3rd quarter will tell. Keep up that intensity and we crush them

Training loads were increased before the bye

So strap yourselves in lads…this next half an hour is crucial.

Great to see the smothering and second and third efforts. Was totally missing last 3 games. Lever impressive, Viney full beast mode.

Fritta still owes us a few. That first quarter non handball I never want to see a MFC player do ever again!!

️Lever  ️Viney. ️Brayshaw ️Jackson

pressure pressure pressure

PHYSICAL  AROUND THE FOOTY

… BUT need to nail the goals

Our best Quarter of the year

how brave is Fritsch? Flies for everything with no size

A lot of players stood up for us. Particularly pleased with Fridge and Freezer (JJ and Sparrow)! Excellent toughness, 2nd only to Viney

Make sure mum tucks you in nice and tight, now.

No coincidence Lever has played the best half all year now that May is back.

Jackson is doing a fantastic job competing. He's getting rag dolled for strength at times but hos follow up forward and tackling intensity is elite.

Viney really got us going that quarter alongside Petracca and Oliver.

Benny Brown unlucky not to have 3 goals on board.

Great quarter, worked our butts off and the tide turned. We started creating chances. Jackson lowering the eyes to hit up Brown was excellent and gave us the reward for effort we deserved. Much more zip and movement up forward, got the ball pinging around the way we like it.

May is having a howler but it still helps immensely having him out there. Lever looking as sharp as ever.

Luke Jackson is standing up, sure he's getting beat in some ruck contests but it's not his job to win them all right now. I think his midfield work has been great. Big Sam is cracking in too, would love to see a big mark from him down the line.

How about Harmes the goalsneak! Sometimes you gotta find them elsewhere.

The work is not done, not even close. And if loading is a thing then ots gonna be a harder second half to watch. Grind this one out Demons.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
