Swans looked good against us….

Anyone does at the moment

Good results for us so far this round.

Now for the weagles to upset the cats. Somehow.

GWS winning tonight would be excellent too.

You'll need 13 to play finals this year, because the last couple of sides are so bad.  Port would need 7 from 9 from here. Unlikely but not impossible.  It's been a good effort by them after being 0-5.

Footy gods are smiling at the MFC so far this weekend.

When is the last time the Cats won after the bye round. Is it as long as it seems.

Edited by Mr Steve

We have seen Blues, Swans and Saints lose to clubs outside the 8 this round. As we saw last season many top 8 clubs dropped games to lower sides in second half  in particular to those that still have a chance of making finals. Ladder predictor will become less predictable as we enter the latter stage of season.

Nah, it’s the presentation game day, of working hard on the track. It’s not about god, it’s about science…

Swans had plenty of time left when they got back to 23, Port was very desperate after that and it was good to watch.

and they were 2 players down for last half

Port can’t afford to reload this season and will ultimately fall away towards the tail end. That’s whAt 0-5 does to you.

But FMD where was this Swans outfit 2 weeks ago. Even with our poor form we would have beaten them by 6 goals.

Just [censored] me how every round a side brings their utmost best against us especially when we needed a break. Suppose the boys wouldn’t want it any other way.

Best West Coast team fielded all year

cats without Danger, Parfitt etc

WC at home

can I smell an upset?

Blues, Swans and Saints, must all be in crisis.

Eagles having a dip so far. i hope they can keep this up

Threw a few bucks on methcoke.

Not often I'll barrack for them but geez I hate the cats and at $7 snort it up boys

Hilarious that the Water Closet Eagles are level with the Cats at the break. They will surely get run over in the second half but at least it won't be a % booster for Geelong.

an attempt at a play on words only Bro. very poor attempt. Wasn't a comment about you or your post in anyway. :-)

No worries mate - my vision was a little err ...... "blurred" ... at that time.

Geelong should win but can the eagles keep it as close as possible to stop the cats % climb.

I can’t stand the Cats but boy I really love their f50 connection. They move it as slow as we do but they just find the space for Hawkins all the time. His not terribly quick but he plays the role perfectly.

If We could build connection like that, then BBB, Fritt and even Weid will be able to kick bags. The bomb and hope has to be eliminated from our game style.

And that is predictable 🙄

WCE at least pushing the arrogant Cats ….. maybe those here who complained that we didn’t beat them by 100 points can rethink.

I don't think i've ever barracked for the Eagles before. I feel yucky

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
