Calm down mate. You don't cover yourself in glory on game days.

I'm sorry, but supporters are allowed to voice their frustration.

It's the manner how this occurred which still infuriates a lot of supporters.

When speaking to other dees supporters at the ground today there was far worse said lol..

Accurate though.

The guy who pantsed us again, who hasn't since May came to our club, did it again today, in the form of Cox.

Turner going off at 3QT almost meant we'd struggle to stay with them unless we could take some contested marks and take the pressure off our defence.

Again, a team got on top of us when Petty was off the ground for an extended period of time.

Also, does Steven May stop our guys being caught on the wrong side of the contest and letting the ball get out back repeatedly? I dunno. Maybe.

Be interesting to see how our defensive basics stand up when May is back in the team.

While the db might not have cost us the game he sure as hell did not help.

On a 3AW interview yesterday Kate Roffey was asked: if the AFL sanctioned May/Melksham further (apparently they thought not all the info was given to them) would the club appeal?.

Roffey replied the club believes the AFL was given all the info, the club wasn't expecting further sanctions and if there were, they would look at the detail before considering an appeal.

No mention was made of what further sanctions might be, if there were any.

imv, the 'would you appeal' sounded like a 'gotcha' question.  Kate didn't take the bail.  I reckon if the AFL found the need for more sanctions, they would discuss/negotiate with the club first and there would be a mutually acceptable outcome.

Kate handled all the questions about the May/Melksham incident and leaked 2020 Director texts calmly and firmly.

Many would kill to see that cctv footage. Has the afl or the club paid for it to keep it under wraps?

Something tells me we won’t see Maysie in an argumentative mood ever again…

Went to Entrecote last night for a family birthday (booked prior to the stoush). Without diminishing from the severity of the issue and noting that the place was absolutely packed with diners, I was thinking that if a fight started at this venue, it should have been for the lack of value for the fare on offer.

As Watts said, he has seen at least 20 of these incidents over his career.

This was a nothing story to begin with.

Fox Sports don't seem to want to let go.

It's usually the [censored] from within that brings an organisation down.

It will be very difficult for some of our players to play in the same team as others, especially those that have been denigrated by more senior players.

The question I ask is why?  We've taken over half a century to get to the power house we once were and in a flash we start to tear it apart.

  • 2 weeks later...

ST KILDA pair Paddy Ryder and Bradley Hill were involved in a bar altercation but the club has denied reports they were left out of the AFL team last week for disciplinary reasons.

The Saints on Monday night said Ryder and Hill were part of a "verbal exchange and disagreement" with fellow patrons at a venue in Mordialloc.

so do we now see the AFL jump onboard with a full inquiry and the integrity unit called in !!!! Surely yes

and will Caro and Robbo and Damo and Tommy and Ralphy all feast on this club bust up and club in crisis headlines !!!!

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
