Very unconvincing from the so called challengers but other supporters probably say the same about us.

Everything I'm hearing re the Dees in my part of town is "how can your boys be stopped?"

They're already basically giving us this flag and conceding a Prelim/GF in 2023 as the best case scenario.

Remember everyone if you are a defender and your opponent takes a mark, if you put your arms out in frustration- that alone is justification for a 50. As we heard from the umpire at the time

will this get mentioned as the absolute farce that it is????!

Pretty poor win by Brisbane if we’re being honest.

Their Coaching staff would be disappointed in giving up 90 points in modern day AFL footy.

….”giving up 90 points in modern day AFL footy.”

Many teams do.   Our defence is our greatest strength and will only be better with the return of Petty, and when ready, Salem.

Poor game. At least the filth lost but not by enough. The Bears looked poor to me but still won. The same could be said for Melbourne who are not playing their best.

I find it odd that we were so heavily penalised in our practice game and no other team has been until now.

Harris Andrews was definitely having a winge after watching the replay.

Gardiner a few minutes later complained openly about a decision against him but couldn't be penalised as the goal had already been kicked. Seems to defeat the purpose of the rule.

Many teams do.

In the opening 33 games of the season, just 6 losing sides have scored 90 points, including tonight.

Conceding 90 points in a win is too many for mine. No way would Brisbane win a final conceding 90 points.

Yeah I reckon our practice game was the anomaly. Haven’t gone hard after that. At least not consistently

If you had to guess what umpires fixations are going to be this week, try pushing in back and interference going for Mark.

And o yes the new deliberate out of bounce...wtf.

How hard is it though to just not?

It was wonderful to wake up this morning to check the score: Brissy vs. Collingwood (The Filth). I attempted to watch the game but the umpiring again gave me the willies, so I retired bored and disinterested for a long sleep.

What is interesting is at this point of the fixture, Brisbane (who in my mind were only moderately impressive) appear to be the major challenge for the Dees this season. It was good to evaluate the first half of the game, albeit interrupted by the snot goblins attempting to make the game '...genuinely evenly balanced and competitive...',  and with an intended bias towards The Filth to facilitate this ...' in an attempt to keep the viewing public ' ... on the edge of their seats...'

Had this not occurred, at least in the first half that I saw, Brizzy would have won the match by half time, showing more skills across the ground and in moving the ball quickly, and well, on most occasions.

It is not time for the Dees to relax, however.  It is time to enter into the rest of the season with confidence and a determination to commit manslaughter in each game from now on. A bright season awaits us, surely.

Is this the most embarrassing (in a good way) statistic of all?  A brilliant piece of insight.

Mason Cox is 31 and looks cooked as an AFL footballer. As long as Collingwood play him in their team, especially with all the tall timber they had running around under lights last night, they will struggle to win games. They should trade him to Geelong at the end of the season.

They said the coverage it’s the first time 5 players 200cms plus have played in the one side… not sure Mason played much.
You’ve got to feel for him, poked in the eye and  his vision appears stuffed, he just can’t seem to track it into his hands.

Others think Brissy were not impressive, I walked away impressed, with Hipwood to return the fwd line with Joe D finally putting goals away, they have improved. Defence is a concern letting the Pies score so highly but the caveat is the new rules of the week on display that dragged the Pies closer that it should have been.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
