Liam Jurrah is top of the what might have been list for sure.

I wonder how Colin Sylvia would have gone in todays team. I think the better environment and culture might have helped him realise his full potential. He was super talented. Played similarly to Trac although not sure if he could have reached Trac’s level.

Too young to remember Flower so I'd have to say him just so I could see him play.  Judging by the regard to which he is held in this forum I'd love to see him run around.

In my time, Schwartz in, T. McDonald out sorry Tom.

Gerard Healy, Scully and Scott Thompson then play them at Casey.

(Turns out the flag didn't do as much for forgiveness as I thought...)

Healy these days seems to have no time for the Mighty Demons...... as for Scully, he did us big time...

Tingay.

I think he payed with Todd but he would probably do an even better 1 - 2 combination with Jack.

Opposition wouldn't want to get the footy knowing one of them is going to crunch them.

Not sure you're correct here.

Healy helped us get Roos over the line originally, has talked up our players, stood up for Goody with all the stuff going on lately, and has made appearances on fan podcasts and the like.

I think often people like Healy and Lyon get misunderstood by supporters because they try to be fair and balanced in their media roles.

The Ox at CHF is the standout to me.

But for one that hasn’t been mentioned we rarely got to see the best of Col Sylvia RIP. Have him play forward and swap on ball with Tracc, he’d be good for 20 touches and 2 goals easily.

Stan Alves was like that also when at the ABC.. As for Healy...  I would not give him the time of day now.. As you say, Scully used us as did his Father all to get away from a Club he never wanted to play for..  Total scum...

If only Col had the buy in of Oliver and Petracca. He obviously didn't have the same support as they do.

RIP Col

If Jimmy Stynes was to play, whose spot would he take?  Surely neither of Gawn or Jackson.

If Jackson becomes the equal of Stynes we have a champion.

Can’t possibly nominate just one

Liam Jurrah or Alan Jakovich

Both absolutely mesmerising for opposition defenders whilst for us fans, utterly unforgettable when they turned it on ( which was just about every week)

Robbie Flower without hesitation.
The hype was real kids.

Time for some Flower highlights I say.
What a Legend.

Flower. Easily.

Flower just seems so over rated. Yes he was a great player but time and then his death has people over rating him. He was good but he played in a [censored] team so stood out . He’d have no chance today

Your right that is their role or should be.

but far more interested in how big their back pocket can become. Most look after No 1.
and if you have [censored] the club off once,

Good effin Bye

Sometimes I read a post and forget about trolls. Anyone that has watched football and seen Flower play understands his standing in the game. You are no doubt trolling or a fool.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
