Other than not signing his extension yet there has been zero indications that he won't stay. He was looking quite happy training with the other WA recruits in the off season. His parents are even talking about re-locating here.

I think the days of fretting over players re contracting are over for a while

Wonder if hes put talks on hold again? Worrying silence on this, don't want it to be a distraction all year.

Nothing ever gets announced at Tennis time...

If he has signed on the big announcement will happen when the footy kicks into gear from next week on.

if he wants to leave, he wants to leave

not like we'll be getting a spare packet of chips for him

by the end of the 2022 season he could be a two-time premiership player

Cheese and onion or chicken?

Prior to Flag though..

Would take Clarry anytime over Viney anytime, more upside, more of a playmaker, just a better footballer all round.

I'm starting to get a bit worried about all this.   My sister's freinds brother Phil is in Cockburn (the suburb or Perth) works as an admin assistant to an estate agent was saying the other day that a they had a buyers agaent who was saying he worked for an AFL player of one of the successful East coast teams inquiring about property in the area.

He probably wants a holiday house near a beach to entertain his Demon team mates. Nothing wrong with that!

So Jackson is the only player that belongs to a successful east coast side. My wifes second cousins mistress told me that can't be true.

Doing Chariots of Fire style beach runs with the Premership cup held high.

Long term deal has been put in front of him, talks on hold.

Because I have no doubt West Coast are working on a god father offer for LJ. They need a star after Nic Nat retires in 2-3 years whilst Freo don't really need him as much due to their young star ruck in Sean Darcy.

We'll be doing extremely well if we can get LJ on a long term deal. Extremely well.

Unless he's seen at the airport in a WCE T-shirt, going over to Perth to "inspect the facilities", nothing to worry about.

Unless his old man gets a job as a recruiter for WCE, nothing to worry about.

Hang on, this is unbelievable!

theres a place called Cockburn in Australia and I never knew about it?!

move over Cockfosters we have a new clubhouse leader!

Running back to Perth didn't work out too well for Jessie - I think Luke knows he is in a very special place right now

The core of this premiership team can enjoy sustained success and get handsomely paid too along the way If they stick together

Plenty of examples of characters that chased the $$$'s only to be disappointed - its not all about money IMO

Mods, can we change 'underway' to 'NOT finalised' until they are? I keep coming in with an expectation of movement (and in the right direction!) 😏

If Jack Darling retires which is looking that way, this will open up huge cap space for the Eagles.

It might be that he sees himself living in Perth for the better part of his career as his priority rather than just money or playing in successful sides, and that his parents have moved over to help him through some issues.

I'm predicting he'll sign a 2 year extension. Same as Clarry. They, or their managers, like to keep their options open.

Having said that, hopefully the flag (or hopefully) 2 ... or more would make a difference. Like Jee-long and Richmond players who signed on for 'unders'.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
