To name a few.

Love this club.

Could see it a mile off, I have been saying for ages that the grandpa's can't go with your young  fast team.

I’m really struggling to know what to say. 43 years of loving this club, and they get into this position, and play so well, and my mind is literally struggling to comprehend it.

It’s like having a pet dog that you’ve always loved and one day it just stands up, starts talking, and then makes you a rock solid negroni. You can see it happening, but you still don’t understand it.

Ch 7 are saying it is coming up during their armchair experts show.

A proud demon tonight. enjoy the next 2 weeks as much as we can. Hopefully a dynasty is coming and we can all celebrate together at the MCG.

Gawn. Legend . All the boys well done.

On Foxtel now

Logged on to Demonland about 40 minutes ago and and I swear I've been staring at my computer screen during that time in total disbelief, unable to type even the slightest semblance of a sentence as I'm simply at a total loss of where to even start after what we've all just witnessed. Never in my wildest dreams (and boy have there have been some wild ones), could I have imagined what transpired tonight.

If Maxy wasn't already immortalised in Demon folklore with his goal after the siren to give Melbourne the minor premiership, he is a certainty now after single handily ripping the heart out of Geelong during that third quarter.

No one, NO ONE, played poorly tonight. This was perfection personifed.

Magnifique...

Sorry for questioning your selection Bowey you little ranga ba stard! ❤

This is surreal.

Petty's game was incredible.

Tommy Sparrow has come from the clouds!

Spargo, ANB and Kozzie ran them ragged.

Brayshaw courageous.

BBB four brilliant contested marks.

Tag Clarry and Petracca and Viney get you.

That 60 metre goal on the run from Gawn!

Salem 720 metres gained!

Decent commentary, especially Jason Bennett.

Excellent umpiring.

I need to have a serious chat to Mark McGowen.
Can my Covid free hamstring be let across the border to donate to Steven May?

The hammy is fresh. I’ve been sitting on the couch for 220 days.

Any news from "Down at Moorabool St"? I am on a high and buzzing and don't want to go to bed yet.

Chris Scott “I gotta get on the bus. I’ll keep my answers short”… yeah mate you gotta get on the bus to the retirement village. The pudding is waiting.

On fox footy now. He’s actually been fine. Started before questions by paying respect to us and our dominance tonight and all year.

He said ill answer your questions as quickly as i can because the boys are waiting on the bus...

Geelong should have played Dan Andrews in their starting 22 tonight. He's the only one that can shut down Melbourne.

He is doing it now on Fox / Kayo - having difficulty in holding it together. Difficult to look at the camera. Looks absolutely shattered

Scott spoke really well. Acknowledged how good Dees are. Let hope we can emulate the Cats success.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
