Joel Smith Hamstring

Or Hunt if fully fit.

But Smith is a real worry getting recurring and repeated injuries. Hard to reliably fit him into a rôle.

Whoever is the mfc person(s) that regularly gives Morris inside information should stop it!  It happens too often.  It doesn't help the club especially around this time of year.

Just stop it!

Leaking of this really annoys me.  It gives Geelong intel several days before selecting their team.

Would it make a lot of difference?   Maybe if they thought we would select 4 tall defenders and Smith to most likely play on Ratugalea.

Every little bit of advantage counts in finals.  Morris should turn in his MFC membership (if he even has one).

This is so unfortunate for Smith - he simply can't seem to stay on the track - forever getting injuries

Think I'd prefer Hunt if he is fit and ready

Probably the same bloke on here that advised us all of an injury yesterday but didn't name him other than being  someone replaceable

Rohan is listed at 188 cm, Hibberd 186, Smith 191.  Hibberd to Rohan looks a reasonable match, in the air at least.  Rohan does most for pace.

I wanted to see Rivers to Rohan so Smith could play on Sav allowing Lever to pick up a small but thats not happening now. Lever will have to go to Sav.

Their height is going to be a challenge for us with Smith out. If we can sneak through this week, I think this is actually a better set-up for a GF versus Port or Dogs though.

My left field suggestion. Hibberd takes Cameron. Yes he's giving up 10cm, but matches him in the kg department.

Allows May to Hawkins, Petty to Esava and Lever can zone off from Rohan who doesn't touch it in September anyway.

He is particularly annoying...one of the more punchable heads in football.

...right up there with Tom Browne.

The more I think, the more the list gets longer and I haven't even started on the players.

Taylor, Brayshaw, Darcy...stop it.

IN: Hibberd for Smith & Hunt for Bowey

I think this is 100% the right call and personally would have done this anyway regardless of the injury.

Bowey will be a good player and has done well so far...so it's no knock on him but Hunt is more experienced and a bit bigger and stronger...i think we have to do it given the stakes.

Also think Hibberd is just a better defender than Smith and gives us a real 'known quantity'.

Rotten luck for Smith.

Really only two options to replace him, Hibberd or Hunt. Jetta hasn't played since Round 10 whilst Daw, Lockhart and Hore haven't played at all this year.

Given Geelong's forward line, Hibberd is really the only option. Have to trust him to go with either Cameron or Rohan.

They trained yesterday afternoon but we get the report of the injury early in the morning which is around 5.30am Perth time. How did he get injured? Playing Xbox with the boys at midnight?

When all is said and done..very lucky we have an experienced (some would say best 22) defender to come straight in. Smith is unfortunately injury prone and thank goodness he did his hamstring at training and not in the match. Geelong will find it much harder to replace Parfitt as a defensive mid given that they have already had to replace Mark O.Connor. We have to really maximise it in the midfield & we do have the luxury of Max down back .

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
