Port like us in 2018 prelim. Ambushed and mugged after drinking too bath water.

Edited by John Crow Batty

Based on what I'm seeing the GF will be a cracker. Hard to gauge how good the Dogs are though as Port just haven't turned up. Embarrassing for a side that haven't travelled at all during finals.

Ken Hinkley is a good Home and Away season coach, that's just about it.

In fairness, they are getting them vs Port not us.

Yep. Port are giving no resistance so it is hard to work out how good the really are, but Footscray are playing like us

Sod this. I'm switching over to the Rangers v St Johnstone game.

Tell Fantasia to pull his usual hammy and get Powell Pepper on to crack some heads!

Drinking Adelaide water is bad enough.

Is there a worse coach in the AFL than Ken Hinkley?
Tactically he is awful.

Flat track bullies.

Have been throughout his coaching career.

So exactly how bad is Keith's hammy? Three weeks puts him back in the frame for GF

Keith will be available for the GF.

They never had a disaster of these proportions in Summer Bay!!

Mind you our opponents didn't turn up last night either

Onto Ted Lasso for me.

If l recall, last time we played Dogs we kicked innacurately & got within 4 points of them in the last before they kicked away. We can beat Dogs in 2 weeks just gotta take our chances.

And shafted by the umpires

Jeez you feel for the Lions. To lose by a point to what will be the 2nd grand finalist after some dodgy umpiring decisions, just one week after being bulldozed by the 1st grand finalist.

Brissie would be 5 goals up vs Port tonight, looking at a grand final berth, and every Melbourne supporter would be licking their chops.

So I take it you are not following Ange and his Celtics?

Port are pissweak and showing terrible skills for a supposedly top 4 side.

A few of them have gibbed the contest and that is fatal in finals.

We know how they will play on Lever at least.
Who takes Naughton? Gonna have to be Smith - nobody can match his athleticism.

Doggies are still vulnerable down back so we will need a huge effort in the midfield but I think our brand is better suited to finals. Port is just flattering them tonight.

In Round 11 Naughton kicked 1.1 from 14 disposals and 5 marks.

In Round 19 Naughton kicked 2.1 from 9 disposals and 3 marks.

Tonight to half time he has kicked 2.1 from 7 disposals from 6 marks.

In other words: twice this year, we've curtailed him.

Their mids dominated also, I’d think ours would give a better showing this time round.

Sets up a ripper of a GF

Both teams had 20 scoring shots with the Dogs more accurate on the day.

Just getting shown up for the flat-track bullies that they are. The surprising thing is that it's happening at their home ground in front of an overwhelming Port crowd!

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
