No change

No change.

Smith hangs in

no room for Jordon, Hunt, Hibbo, Melksham or Jonesy

Special comments.
Bowey. Struggled early then stepped up and looked more assured after half time.
Sparrow.  One of our best.  Looked comfortable and hard at it.
Rivers.  Early mistakes but really hard at it and loved the tackles and smothers.

If Hunt is fit, then Hunt in Smith out.

Need to at least consider tmac.

Have been his biggest fan but his last nine games he has kicked  six goals and returned to the player he was last year.

Credit due to his other 11 games but this is the flag at stake and hes hit a long slump going into and including finals.

Do we have options?

Maybe not. Its a concern though. He didnt go near it today. I know he had two weeks off but do we keep going with him. Hard call.

Very harsh on Bowey DD

I concur.   Bowey is not in doubt

If Hunt is fit he should replace Smith. If he's not fit then no change

Smith might be in trouble given his opponent kicked 5 on him.

Who plays on Toby Greene if GWS get through to the prelim?

Actually, his opponent kicked 3 on Salem in one quarter, and 2 on Smith for the rest of the game.

I guess it may depend upon just what role the match committee / coach had for TMc tonight

Was it to make a complete fool of Andrews?  If so he did a fantastic job.

This thread is just too premature.

Two weeks rest. Let’s savour this win.

I don't think Toby will be playing.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
