At least when Dictator Dan locks us down.constantly we don't need to worry about having no home base and where we would go to celebrate after a premiership.

Well aren’t you just one big bucket of fun!

I’ve promised to wear my hair in Sailor Moon buns for a week if we do. Even though my boss would be furious, it’s a bet I’ve promised to do.

One brother has promised to get a demons tattoo on his bum, the other has pledged not to go to work for a week.

We’re a crazy family

I'd be getting a tattoo of an iconic moment in the granny... think Jones celebration pic during the elimination final v Geelong.

Then I'd buy as much 2021 demons merchandise as humanly possible.

Then I'd buy the 2022 jumper because we would have the gold afl logo.

Then I'd renew my membership for the whole fam.

Then id probably have some divorce papers to read through.

I'd offer to overdub the grand final DVD with commentary of my own for free. Which would be marginally more informative than the channel 7 nuffies but with more slurring in the second half.

I’ll enthusiastically say “yes!” and pump my fist.

Wild scenes.

I've spend the best part of 58 years expending emotional and spiritual energy on this mostly disfunction organisation. It's easily the longest relationship of my life. And i don't even wanna think about the money i've poured into the joint, one disaster after another. So a premiership would barely balance the scales. Having said that, I'll be buying all the relevant merch . . . it's what people in long-term, codependent relationships do.

Typo

Paint my truck red and blue and splash MFC advertising all over it.

Personally though, I would cry for Robbie.

I've already discussed with a friend whose partner is a tattooist to get my ink ready. I've even got a design picked out.

At least keep a mask on for the benefit of public health. In fact, maybe a second mask as well, you know, also for the benefit of the public.

As for me... I reckon I might convince my wife/her family to do a Vietnamese match commentary and crowd noise. The 95% of relatives back in Vietnam are all heavily locked down so it might be a fun family project that would also make them all understand football. :D

EDIT: I brought it up and she declared the plan has to be for ME to do the commentary in Vietnamese! Now we're talking a serious commitment.

"Cú lấy tuyệt vời của Pickett trẻ tuổi! Anh ấy ngoặt sang trái và ghi một bàn thắng tuyệt vời! "

Goosebumps.

its not what I could do for the club, but what the club could do for us.

if we were to salute, and after all this time, we couldn't be there, then I want the cup to visit my (every members) house. (Iets not worry about logistics)

I want the opportunity to lift it above my head, drink champagne from it, put my baby in it, kiss it, hold it and shed a tear. it would be the next best thing to being there IMO.

The imagery could be used for next years membership campaign

What would I do for the club? [censored] all!

We've stuck through with them in the dark days, the horrific days and even the Mark Neeld days.

I would accept a thank you from the club for sticking around when many have dropped off

I would celebrate like a maniac and buy my membership for next year and cheer my guts out like usual

This would be a cool Tatt

This Demon was found in Twisties Packets in the 60’s. So the card was always yellow, but he has always been a favourite Demon

Last week I saw a bloke in Ivanhoe on Channel 7 news had painted a mural on his house of Gawny, Kossie and Trac. His daughter put him up to it (are you on DL????). It was magnificent.

My wife told me not to get any ideas, but I could totally see my house painted in red and blue (they are my two favourite colours after all)

If you’re assuming that currently lockdown conditions exist (really hope it doesn’t) I will run to just about every corner of my 5km radium wearing red and blue head to toe screaming like a lunatic. If I get stopped I’ll say I’m doing exercise.

FWIW I’m hoping that should we get to that final day in September by that stage there will be restrictions that have eased for outdoor gatherings and that the club maybe be able to organise outdoor viewing locations in parts of Melbourne such as Casey, next to AAMI, and maybe fed square. If the AFL were really fair they would make if free but ticketed and available to members of the two teams playing first.

Drive around Perth in a ‘borrowed’ work car with the red and blue lights going.

Will cry like a baby.

....& probably over Gosch's Paddock (permitted exercise?) to qualify as doing 'something for the club'.

Oh whoops, asking what I’d do FOR THE CLUB? Honestly I don’t think I’d do much for them except get as much Melbourne garb out the front of the house to let everyone know how proud I am. And honestly if people wanted to take stuff I probably wouldn’t be upset with that!

I actually don’t know what I would do, as years of my youthful exuberance gave way I think it would be like winning lotto, something you hope happens but not believing it actually will.

I know I would have a decent drink, but not sure what my initial reaction would be, a mixture of overwhelming joy, relief and shock.

I honestly thought in 87 after watching us at the G in the first final against North we were on such a run, we were going to win it beating whoever was in front of us, but alas it didn’t happen. 98 again I thought we were a chance but the old finals system and White going down at the wrong time didn’t help. I knew in 88 and 2000, something special needed to occur but on both occasions that was snuffed out by halftime. In 2018, I knew we were cooked going into the Prelim, that was evident against the Hawks the previous week that the tank was almost empty.

This season I have seen a very different defensive structure like never before, but like others I just don’t know if we’ll do it. Hopefully I find out, what my reaction to winning the flag will be

Would you be inspired to make a cash donation? If so, what sort of amount? Buy extra memberships? Upgrade current memberships? Grand final guarantee?

Me, i would go absolutely NUTS on commemorative merchandise. The drunker i got the more i would spend. Perhaps even a tatt to celebrate.

How far would you go after a flag?

When my maker comes for me, I could finally die a happy man with no regrets.

I’m already over $600 deep in a membership that meant i sat in my reserved seat once this year, and wont get to any finals.  I have no income in lockdown and wonder more about getting through than what i can give to the footy club.

Did we win?

I've taken some inspiration from this thread. I'd definetly get a high quality poster framed of the iconic moment.

Would have to get the jumper for next year so i can have the gold logo, i did it when Liverpool won the league.

Other than that, i already pay for a membership, purchased a proud to give jumper and dropped 200$ as a bonus donation.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
