Every other player needs to understand these two can't just drag us over the line every time the game is in the balance

Ditto.  If Brown could kick straight he might've got in.

Petracca a lot of disposals, but almost wholly ineffective IMHO.

1 Lever

Special mention the men in yellow who gifted the Bulldogs 25 possessions, a 50 metre penalty,2 downfield frees  and had the most influence on the game.

Anyone who puts Viney in does not know footy. Apart from one good moment he was avarage at best

6 Oliver. At the contest. Won the footy. Drove us forward all night.

5 Gawn   Won the ruck all night   Didn’t get protection or benefit from fumbling mids

4 Viney   Really tried to lift us. Great heart . At the contest.

3 Lever  He’s dependable. Solid

2 Hunt run run and run. Some great line running and chases. But some dumb moments

1 Trac. Lots of the footy. Great first goal. Missed targets and turnovers costly.   Bont beat him and Trac didn’t do well at his defensive responsibilities

I felt that we had a number of players just off the boil tonight and our kicking is so average that it is not sustainable.

I think you do not know much about footy Picket. Viney did well tonight. At least he showed some leadership.

Two of Viney’s loose checking in the last qtr changed the margin from 4pts to 16pts. He showed the opposite of leadership when the game was in the balance. Also had a very quiet first half. Surprised anyone has him in their votes.

Gawn unlucky for 1 vote. Petracca was very sloppy and turned it over too much to get a vote.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
