The heart beats true 18,201 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 I wonder what the sticking point was for the delay in announcement, since it appears the clubs had been told this was going to happen prior to Saturday night? 1 Quote
roy11 4,058 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Imagine we've probably seen our last regular season game in person. Bad week for Dogs, lost a player to ACL, another player to quarantine and now have to face the top8 juggernaut 1 1 2 Quote
titan_uranus 25,252 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 (edited) It's unbelievably bad luck that the AFL has had two 1 v 2 games this year and both of them have occurred during lockdowns. This is now three of (you'd expect) our top four most profitable home games lost due to COVID (Brisbane, Queen's Birthday and this, with the fourth being ANZAC Eve). We also lost a home game vs Hawthorn, a larger Victorian club. Even if we get a crowd vs Adelaide, the best we'll do this year is to finish with six home games at the MCG in front of crowds for the season, and of those games four will have been against interstate sides. I have no idea how that stacks up against other clubs but I'd be surprised if many clubs had a worse set of home game crowds. Edit: I missed the Carlton game. So it's a bit better - crowds at 6 home games, 7 if we get Adelaide. Edited July 19, 2021 by titan_uranus 1 Quote

Rab D Nesbitt 8,951 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Media are cranking up their 'we can't be trusted' story again which might be a good thing for this game. We should probably translate it into latin and add it to our club logo. 3 9 Quote

La Dee-vina Comedia 17,136 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 I generally only watch games we're in, so am not familiar with the players in most other teams (other than the fact that every second Bulldogs player is called 'Bailey'). Has Mitch Hannan been doing well with the Bullies? Quote

Thought it was interesting in Bradshaw’s after match interview that he alluded to playing the Bulldogs next week. Thought it was a slip of the tongue but maybe they had already been told it could be a possibility …if they were told before the game maybe that’s what they were thinking about .. Quote
