So these flogs have apparently requested a change of venue for their next round clash against Richmond

moving it from MCG as scheduled to Geelong

what a complete joke I really hope the AFL put them back in their tiny filthy box

Give me one reason why it’s a complete joke? Their home game and no crowds. Makes sense to me, especially if we can move our game against them to the G when crowds are back ?

Guaranteed to be approved.

Wouldn’t want these guys to finish ahead of us on the ladder.. no crowd numbers will gift them finals at the worlds worst stadium

Why is this a bad thing?

It's a Geelong home game and the only reason this game is supposed to be at the MCG is to allow more fans to attend. That's now irrelevant given the restrictions.

It 100% should be in Geelong.

Get as upset as you want about them passing us on the ladder, but this is fair.

Geelong are the biggest bunch of sooks in the game.

I can still remember in late 2013, Geelong were having their usual cry to the media about their home finals needing to be played in Geelong. Fremantle were their opponents in Week 1 and Ross Lyon was asked at a presser for his thoughts on where the game should be played.

"Who cares? We'll play them in a carpark if we have to." was his blunt response.  Fremantle went and beat them at Kardinia a few days later.

I expect our attitude towards the rest of this season will be more in line with Ross Lyon's and not the sooks down the highway.

They are also the only team with players and coach openly sooking to the media about the length of quarters. Just shut the [censored] up and be prepared to win anywhere, any time. Muppets.

As you may have guessed, this current vintage of Geelong is my most hated AFL team ever.

Why is this an issue? It’s their home game and is no chance of a crowd above 25000 at the G

Fair play to them. This is probably the only reason it would be better for us to finish above them as a heavily reduced attendance could see them ask again come finals time. Then again there is probably some contractual agreement the AFL have with the MCC to play a certain amount of games at the MCG.

We are sent down there to play every single season. All other teams should have their turn as well. No matter if it is a capacity crowd, a small crowd or no crowd at all.

Good I hate Geelong.
While I’m at it I hate their coach and captain too and u can throw Hawkins in there for good measure.

They are a bunch of entitled [censored].

When did Collingwood or Essendon last play on that narrow ground in Geelong?

Essendon just recently. But that was after 28 years of never having to go there.

Do they want anything else? Throw in some shares in bitcoin and Tesla too.

Bunch of entitled flogs.

Play it at Marvel

I actually think Geelong should be playing most if not all their home games at KP. The only caveat to that is they should be forced to provide more tickets to away fans.

Tigers, Bombers, Pies, and Hawks should going down there as much as anyone.

Anything that gets those blow-ins Geelong, Carlton & Essendon the [censored] off our home ground is fine by me. They have home grounds so they can bloody well use them. Also fine is Richmond having to take a trip down the Geelong Rd and having their supporters fight for the 30 or so away tickets that Geelong give out

Reminds me of the bombers wanting to change their game early in the season to the G to get a bigger crowd.

both entitled arrogant clubs

Yeah! How dare they request that their home game be played at their home ground!! ???

What's wrong with all you people? Football team asks to host home match at home because of no crowds and y'all lose your [censored]/composure. Where did Geelong touch you?

In the heart mate, directly in the heart.

I don't care where they play. I just really dislike them and their self entitled attitude.  They are they AFL team equivalent to the famous Middle aged woman called Karen.  ?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
