Death, taxes and opposition fans unequivocally respecting and fearing Max Gawn.

Other than Dusty, there's a not a player in the comp given such unanimous regard.

Please, please pick Cox.

No thanks.

I still wake up in cold sweats thinking about that game when the American kicked 5 goals against us in 2018 -  and that he could do it again one day.

Don't care if we win this by one point. Just get to the bye 12 and 1. That psychological break on the rest of the top 4 will be massive. I'm hoping the Bulldogs drop a game or two in the next month too.

He was listed as two-three (which includes the bye) so I'd say not.  He's their most valuable asset and has had neck problems in the past.  They'll take no chances with him if there is any doubt at all.

He looked bloody sore running around at training on one the AFL website vids, but there's a lot of time for him to come good.

De Goey goes missing when a little accountability is placed on him. Hibberd will school him when forward and he’s not a concern in the middle for mine.

It doesn't seem very long ago that footy commentators were wondering if tracc could be our de goey. Gone straight past him

The game that still makes me angry was round 23 2017. Collingwood had nothing to play for except ruin our chance to play finals and they did exactly that. Our worst H&A defeat in my 15 years following the team given the context and manner of our performance. I'm surprised the pies fans don't mention it more often. If roles were reversed and we denied them finals in the same way we would never let them forget about it.

We've come a long way since then thankfully. It wouldn't happen today and won't happen on QB. I expect a regulation 5 goal win.

Petracca is up there. Oliver too but people seem to hate him.

If lock down is lifted Centrelink is going to get absolutely smashed with requests for advanced payments so that Collingwood supporters can try and fly up to see the game.

May the gulf in their respective output and performance grow every week - Trac has a chance to put that debate to bed well and truly this Monday - Love to see him rip them to pieces

It all started with a contested mark on the wing... when he gets confidence is momentum is impossible to stop

Just got a shiver

The 25k radius might stop them but it might not, for a Pie supporter 'radius' is a big word to comprehend.

Mate, i know Pies supporters who'd struggle to comprehend that Sydney is a different city to Melbourne haha

De Goey isn't even fit to look him in the eye now!

Good point you make @binman...although to me it seems like a long time ago, such has been Petracca's consistency.

Reported in the age , buckley stepping down last game monday , great thats all we need

De Goey ripped us apart that day too.

2018 was a long time ago.

there is no doubt the pies are going to lift hard for Bucks, we're going to have to be at our best to beat them.

A friend of mine ( a Hawks fan ) and his wife ( a Collingwood supporter) have an 18 month old son and they're debating which team the little bloke should follow.

I said to him " Well Stephen, your son has very few teeth and he can't string a sentence together. He seems to fit the profile of the typical Pies fan to me. "

Problem solved !

there is no doubt the pies are going to lift hard for Bucks

I think there's considerable doubt as expressed by many other learned posters on this forum.  They may come out flat and deflated after using up all their emotional energy in the days leading up to the game.

As a postscript, why have you felt the need to to change your username no fewer than eleven times?  It makes it hard to know who is posting when people keep doing this or changing their avatars all the time.

Coupled with the fact AF that 12 wins is a pass mark for finals. We can use this fact to both setup and subsequently come back from the break with a mindset for actions to get us deep into September, rather than "we still have to get there".

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
