Oliver has another perfect 10!

And taken the lead!!  One of these days he will get the recognition he deserves from the media and the rest of the industry.  And, hopefully from umpires when they do their Brownlow voting.

The votes for Keays and Seedsman show where the damage was done by the Crows

10 Clayton Oliver (MELB)
7 Ben Keays (ADEL)
7 Paul Seedsman (ADEL)
2 Jake Lever (MELB)
2 Taylor Walker (ADEL)

Coaches Split:
5/5 Oliver
4/3 Keys/ Seedsman
2/0 Lever, Walker
1/0 Petracca, Langdon.

Watch the umpires somehow give Tex the 3 votes and 2 to Clarry. He was a completely different level to anyone on Saturday, almost dragged us singlehandedly over the line.

Strange way not to just say Oliver's Perfect 10 nabs him outright leader. Instead they take the opportunity to worship at the Bont's feet.

Wow! That’s blatant favouritism right there.

The competition doesn’t appreciate Oliver because he is not a poster boy. But my god he is an elite player and I don’t give a flying f who does and doesn’t rate him. He is a star and he is ours.

Fantastic effort by Clarry.  A consistently brilliant season thus far.  Not at all surprised that Tracc doesn't feature on the leaderboard.  I think the over the top adoration of Mark Robinson and the crew at the Herald Sun regarding Tracc's season thus far is somewhat misplaced.  He's played in fits and starts, has had a couple of truly powerful performances and had many games with the odd moment.  That there is substantial improvement in him, and to a lesser extent Gawn, is what gives me hope that this might be our year.  But that aside, a great accomplishment thus far from Clayton. A deserved leader!

I’d take Clarry over Trac every day of the week.

Christian needs to lose the friendliness/smiles/chats towards the opposition.and get a touch of mongrel in him. Leave that buddy krap for off field.

Can't be many who score a perfect 10 in a losing side.

There’s an add on SEN promoting the game this Friday and it mentions a handful of stars from both teams and Oliver isn’t one of them. It sort of sums up the lack of appreciation for him across the board and that includes some Demonland members who until he had signed on for another couple of years were not worried if he left or not, because  inside midfielders are easy to find. Well ones as good as Oliver are not easy to find, he’s a gun and will still get better.

Mongrel is essential; that sense of self and teammates bound together across a field of play.

Since day one, I’ve always thought Oliver had the potential to be our best player in the last 50 years. A hell of a thing if it happens considering the company in this team.

He’s having a better season than anyone else going around right now. I’m glad I put money on him at $17 for the Brownlow.

Feels like the penny has dropped a bit where he's realising he's bigger, stronger & quicker than almost all mids

Oliver is awesome - there weren’t any Demonlanders last year willing to trade him re Blues.

AWESOME!

Or after the game.  I noticed that at the start of the second half and thought at the time it was a terrible look.  I agree on all fronts.  White line fever needed when the game is on.

Had it on a string, literally. The ball would just bounce up for him perfectly. One of the primo efforts.

His kicking has improved out of sight, not only is he kicking the ball more which is great, he's becoming one of our better kicks imo.

he's a very special player.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
