Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Like we played Hunt forward and plenty on here wanted him gone. He is not that dissimilar to Hunt in his playing style.

I remember when I pushed for Shai Bolton a few years ago, when he had only played a couple of games in the seniors and was playing most of the year in the VFL and the DL knock on him was we don’t need a Tiger’s seconds player. Just saying.

I just searched for all posts made by you relating to Shai Bolton and checked the replies. No one disagreed with you.

I would be interested in Clark. I just dont know if we could seriously guarantee him much more game time than Geelong. He would come in as depth... albeit with less competition for spots.

I am envious of the doggies picking up good paced young outside players like Vandermeer and Lipinski for bugger all.

I’d like to use whatever $ we might left (perhaps from Nev and Jonesy retiring at year end) to attract Cerra.  He is exactly the type to complete our team.

We would have to trade for him. He was a top 5 pick and is worth more than that in a trade. If we were to get him, we would need to give up something that 95% of supporters would not want to give up.

Essendon and Blues in the box seat.

I'd prefer Nathan Freeman. He's been in excellent form and the only reason he didn't make it as an A grader in the AFL was his body.  worth a shot. Built like an inside mid but has elite speed and could fill another wing.

Any idea the location for Cerra? I assume it could be a three way deal?

Dropped again for the 3rd or 4th time this year.

As I said last year, I would target him.

Half back or even solving our other wing issue.

With Jetta probably gone and Hibberd near the end, he could be very useful for us.

We don't have a real issue on the wing!

Angus us quite capable of playing his role as he is now in a premiership team and can be moved into the midfield whenever required.

Not saying Clark may not be a great pick up and I  agree his pace and versatility is tempting.

But I am not dropping Angus who offers a real support outlet in defence as well as can link up with the forwards and intercept stray kicks under pressure.

How much more room has Carlton got left in their salary cap? Perhaps theirs is not so soft!!!

Either of those Diggies  would be  fine and a lot cheaper than Cerra!!

I think Carlton are quietly just doing some work behind the scenes in regards to Cerra.

I wouldn't be surprised if Richmond go hard as well. Need a replacement for Cotchin soon.

He's got too much talent to be wasting away in the 2nds at Geelong, would like to see him gain confidence through some consistent game time.

Is a WA boy from memory, so would make sense that he becomes involved in the Cerra trade

If Clark does now want to go home, it makes sense that Freo is the likely club, especially as there are rumours that Cerra wants to do the same.

Pennant has some good info from the west, so if Freo fear losing Cerra, they would be looking for players coming to them.

Anyway if we can’t get someone like Clark, maybe a cheap option is Freeman who also has great pace. He was top 10 in his draft year and if I recall correctly, it was his hammies, that kept failing him. If they are under control now, he could be a cheap option, that won’t hurt us if he doesn’t make it.

It will be interesting to see the type of players we take in the msd, given our current playing list. Will this be a needs draft or a best available at our pick draft?

I believe the Cats, no new information heard it late last year from someone who is usually on the money with regard to Freo.

As we know with the Langdon deal these things are usually done well in advance

The kid can't get a run, because the cats have a  play granddad's in front of kids, I hope he leaves, which will be good because the cats will only have 33 year Olds on their list, watch the crash the cats will have because all the Young players leave, Scott is going tO leave 1 big mess at cat land, just think the Hawks big fall, or north Melbourne fall who had the same list strategy as Geelong has now.

Was thinking same watching the VFL last night Mr Leg.

I don't mind it at all.  Has shown some genuine class and toe in patches.  Hopefully he's on our radar for consideration.

My only issue on the other wing (assuming that's what he might be considered for) is his height?  Not sure where he's at there.

58er there's more than half a season to go!

On Gus i agree with much of what you have highlighted.  However, does he offer enough going the other way offensively with ball in hand i wonder?  That would be my only issue at this stage but it's only a question i'm putting out there.  Not saying he doesn't either but that's a perception i have at times when observing.

No for mine.

Who would he replaced in our best 22, or best 30 for that matter.

he'd replace many in our 22/30, if played correctly... he's a rebounding defender/hard running wingman with good foot skills. definitely an upgrade on hunt/hibbo and gus the wingman imo

i've never been one to buy into the trade gus ideas however seeing his disposal in that first half on the weekend and the growing cerra feels i can see it as more and more of a possibility that he goes to perth and becomes midfielder numero uno a la lachie neales move to the lions, particularly with the evergreen mundy having to slow down eventually they'll want someone to just protect serong and the lads just for a season or two longer

menegola wont head home, just signed a 4yr deal and freo delisted him all those years ago without a senior game. and i believe i read somewhere that either clark or sparkle if they were to leave would actually prefer a melbourne move than a go-home due to the footy-heavy lifestyle. coulda been narkle given he was out with bolton and rioli last weekend?

Cats would hand those 3 over in a second, to get Cerra for the next 10 years. Would also ease salary cap a bit to go for another player.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
