Is he a late out

Just heard he could be a late withdraw on the news, who knows if there's anything in it.

must say I thought the same but it was an 8 day break

the pins are falling ... we really need to win the next two games (they're the easy ones)

Yep i guess now is a reasonably good time.

I might be a little left field here but I would bring in Jetta to back pocket, Hibberd to HBF and Salem into Petraccas spot in the middle or forward--basically let Salem take the role Petracca has and still cover the defence with experience.

well fair to say, given we’re down viney, jackson,  tommo and Petracca it should no longer be classified as an easy game . Although  imo it wasn’t going to be an easy game anyway, the blues really should have crushed the doggies last week. They’re better than their  ladder position shows. Will be a good win if we can pull it off.

Like it, was thinking the same

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see Trac have a week off after that corky. He looked really sore after the game.

Sparrow would be my tip to come in if he does end up missing, the other option is bring Baker in to take the wing role and move Gus into the guts. The good news is that the match is Sunday so we have the time to see how he recovers.

Trac is currently on 66 games with out a miss he will play not the type to miss from a niggle

Corkies aren't niggles! unless you look after them, potential for serious injury prevails. Happy for him to miss this week!

From the cocky 8-0 corner: tap Kysaiah for some of Trac's middle minutes. Bring in Bedford or Chandler to cover those lost up forward. Brayshaw can pitch in in the middle too. I know we got slaughtered in the centre-clearances last week, but Oliver, Harmes and Brayshaw should have it covered, and the extra small will balance the extra tall. Keep challenging Pickett while we're in the black.

We'll have a better idea tomorrow when Casey plays.  That team has been announced (see Casey R 05 thread) and the only two missing names of those available for selection are Weideman and Chandler, which suggests both are in the 23 for Sunday (late changes excepted of course).

Signs a 7year contract and going soft?

is there confirmation that petracca isn't playing? if he isn't, sparrow would presumably be the next cab off the midfield ranks

HB: Hunt - Petty - Salem
C: Langdon - Jordon - Brayshaw

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
