Better a minor arthroscope op now. Than a more serious or even same op running into the second half of the season.

Sounds as if it is minor, if it was a major or really serious situation it would have shown up previously or when he is on crutches,

Arthroscopes can fix minor problems, at the same time as looking, a gentle snip here, another there, and soon, no cartilage no problem.

This is not the 1960's and he is not John Townsend.  Wait for the orthopaedic surgeons report.

Go Dees

Hes done.  Even if he gets back on the park he will be  a shadow of his former self.

I think we will be ok.  Weideman and Luke Jackson looked great together last season before LJ's injury.

Wow that was quick !

Better get him onto the LT injury list and promote somebody next to useless so we all feel better

Well unfortunately the knee is now an ongoing issue for him and it isn't going to get better.

Surgery, recovery, recuperation, getting back to training, building up match fitness, then trying to find form.  He'll be useless for the first half of the season.

Why can't it get better? Why is he different to the multitude of AFL players who have had a history of knee issues that get on the park every week?

Stevie J had knee surgery on March 26 in 2013, literally in the middle of the first round in the split fixture days.

He played in round 3.

If they have Brown not running for 4 weeks then that’s more conservative and probably a little more going on but it doesn’t have to be curtains for the year

Your qualifications for  that prognosis are?

Um, none

Lever had swelling in his knee on his way back from his ACL. He got back on the park ok.

Tracc had a knee cleaned out after 2018 - He's gone ok since...

Take a breath people!

Worked pretty well in 2018

He only played on the wing for about the first 3/5 mins of a quarter and sometimes not every quarter.

Its just to get him mobile and switched on IMO.

Sometimes arthroscopes are exploratory and sometimes they are just used to clean out the joint following a previous surgery.

And sometimes they are used to perform relatively minor procedures; for example, my son had his meniscus repaired via an arthroscopy.

One flare up is an ongoing issue? Alrighty then!  Hopefully your footy predictions are on par with your political predictions ?

Since most people are not surgeons or have an intimate knowledge of what will be done, we should wait and see what happens and maybe TMcD will be used to fill in for BB unitl he returns to take up the FF position.

Sometimes karma is your enemy other times it is your friend, just imagine if TMcD had left.

Eh.... I'm not too bothered. Imagine if we hadn't recruited Brown and it was Weid who was injured: We'd be going into another season with a dodgy forward line that'd just got dodgier. Now it ups the ante on the others to shine so they keep their place once the Brownster is back and fighting fit and pluggin' 'em....

As long as training is done like this:

Then he should be good to go!

What's this rational comment doing on demonland?

Word has it he’s shot and they’ll amputate his leg. Melbourne will be reimbursed with a top 10 draft pick in 2022

Don’t stress when he comes back say round 5ish we will have a new coach (Williams) cause we will be 0 and 5 to start the season and together Williams and Brown will lead our resurgence up the ladder.

No need to worry.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
